10 Miles Back Again

Stalker tip: you can see a person’s activity and see their posts. That’s how I find logs.

Well, crap. I guess I’ve never stumbled across a private profile.

Now I feel ashamed. I do love you and have no excuses. I will do better from now on. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I keep up with just about every log here so I’m glad I saw this too. Not sure why I wasn’t tagged, but alright.

I only became invested because it genuinely doesn’t seem that insane to me that someone could turn their 5 rep max into a 5x5 weight in a year. Never said he wasn’t lying, I just enjoy entertaining the possibility that he isn’t.

All of this probably struck a chord with me as I’ve been called out for not posting proof in the past on other forums or sites, posting some type of proof and nothing comes from it. No apology, nothing. He may be lying, but if he isn’t, this is a ridiculous way to act. (Not you per-say, but just in general)

I’m far from embarrassed. I just got genuinely tired of clogging up his log. Also, I stream on twitch on weekend nights and when I came back to the log after being tagged, I saw a bunch of grown ass men saying I’m wrong for calling it bullying as if I’m soft for saying so. None of you know shit about me, so not sure where these thoughts come from.

I also don’t understand this claim as I was only responding to @IronOne about his remarks. I didn’t name anyone else nor did I want to bring anyone into this. Honestly, I didn’t think this would blow up so hard and I especially didn’t expect to see a few of the guys who I’ve talked to on this forum for years talking shit about me on other threads. Makes zero sense.

And as far as this goes, I started a twitch, I promote said twitch, and post highlights of the stream on there. If you don’t like seeing it, it’s very easy to unfollow and you’ll never see it again.

Lifting is such a small facet of my life, but I enjoy talking training with like minded people like you guys. When I saw al the nutty shit, it irritated me because I didn’t see where all this random hostility came from. I have no idea if he is lying. He’s my friend just as much as any of you guys are. I just see him as another guy on a forum I’ve talked to who can speak training and be helpful when necessary.

I apologize to all of you guys who I came at and if he is lying, then so be it. I come here to talk training with people I know know about training because majority of my day-to-day is filled with so many that don’t. That in itself is why I jumped on this.

What is this Nutty drama now? (Damn I’m going to need more popcorn before opening a T-nation tab)

There’s never any need to apologise for robust discussion and sticking to your guns. People disagree. It happens.

Wow, lots gone on on here, had to wait until my second cup of tea to respond

No worries at all man, I’ve long ago acknowledged my log is going to feature far more talking than training. I’ve made my peace with that.

@MarkKO @oldbeancam @simo74 @ChickenLittle @Frank_C @heretolog @IronOne @punnyguy

My thoughts are that @isdatnutty hasn’t rung true for me since I rejoined. It became obvious that others felt the same way so I thought I’d let him know. I took it to his log so as not to clutter up @flappinit log any further but also so nutty didn’t feel like we were talking behind his back.

I believe he’s exaggerating his numbers for reasons I’ve said before and the only issue I have with that is that it paints an unrealistic expectation for people like 4-years-ago-nutty. “Work hard on basic double progression on big lifts and you’ll be able to achieve all these things injury free”, it doesn’t work like that, or it hasn’t for anyone else.

I want to be wrong, but I don’t think I am.

Having said all of that, I don’t think I personally want to say anymore on it unless the situation changes. I’m not angry or emotional about it, the only change is that I now know that other people feel the same. I don’t want or need to see a witch hunt.

On to happier stuff:
I appreciate the community on here so much, and it’s the main reason I continue to be here. Watching the progress of other guys and chatting shit with them on here is the reason I rejoined. Frankly, if I just wanted to log, there are apps that would do a far better job than this site. I come on here for inspiration, advice and the occasional “stop being a fucking idiot Dave” from @MarkKO or @simo74. Hopefully I add some value to the forums despite being neither big, strong or knowledgeable and the worlds worst cheerleader.

That was well said.

If I may add, I think it’s a testament to this forum that the discussion, while it did at times get heated because those involved felt strongly about the issue, remained well within the bounds of common decency. I can see it playing out, word for word, in real life without anyone throwing a punch or even yelling. That’s something the majority of online ‘debates’ spectacularly fail to do.

You were fine mate, nothing was out of order and you definitely weren’t giving it all that!
The funny thing with these forums is that the most I have learnt is from guys like you and @mortdk asking questions of other members like @MarkKO that I probably should have asked years ago. Also when I respond to questions it makes me think about my training and progression in ways I would otherwise ignore. This has helped me heaps so having you around is deff worthwhile and you are neither a cheerleader or here for comic value (even though you make me laugh).
I think someone summed it up might have been you or @Frank_C but we have a great group of middle aged dads working hard and learning from each other around here, and I for one really like it.

Sorry mate did I add a few years too many on you. I guess what I meant was that we were ‘men of the world’ or that we had ‘been round the block’
Basically we weren’t teenagers any more.:joy::joy:

And they say a bird in the bush …or is it a hand in the bush? I forget .

Down here, a hand in the bush is as good as a trip to the ER.
