10 Miles Back Again

Just FYI brother, you did what needed doing today. Someone had to nut up (sorry) and ask the question.

Thanks man.

I’m trying to stay out of it to be honest now. I’ve expressed my doubts, other people have expressed theres. I don’t think it needs to go nuclear.

Yeah, but it might. It’ll be kind of funny if it does, because I think Beancam would have a genuine meltdown

He seems pretty invested. I’m not quite clear why, usually the guys that people get invested in and engage with are people like yourself who put plenty of themselves out there to engage with. Nuttys never really been that guy.

At a guess, he’s embarrassed as shit he bought in so hard and he doesn’t want to admit he might be wrong.

It seems like he’s trying desperately to paint anyone questioning as a keyboard warrior who wouldn’t be happy no matter what.

His IG changed a bunch over time too. Used to be lifting stuff, now anything that pops up in my feed is home playing Ark.

Also, now you mention it that’s another mark against then claims I hadn’t thought of. Never a bad session? Never anything about shit feeling off? Nah, just numbers.

I remember his log from the first time I was around this site, this is why the genetics thing has never rung true for me. His genetics haven’t changed and I don’t remember ever getting the impression he was short on work ethic.

It’s always struck me that his log was very, very different from everyone else who lifts those numbers. Straight sets with big, basic exercises 100% of the time, which isn’t an approach I see in any of the other logs of lifters at that level.

I’m too old for Instagram and stuff. One social media platform is enough for me.

Because I can’t think of anyone at that level who trains that way. It struck me that his log looked a lot like what a reddit purist (aka someone who knows shit) would think a strong lifter would train like. Big movements, no belt or wraps, only high bar squat, etc.

This nutty thing is deff going to blow up. It’s literally like the pin has been pulled out of the grenade and it’s sitting there waiting to go off. I think you asked a question a lot of other people have been thinking but most just couldn’t be bothered asking it, so they just ignored the log. Interesting that there isn’t a lot of traffic in his training log. That tells me people either read it and go meh! Or they don’t ask questions because they don’t really believe it.

Colucci posted a snapshot of the threads with the most responses after The Flame Free thread locked. My training log was on the list as well as Mark’s. We both talk a lot in our logs. It’s a place to get thoughts out of our head and get some feedback. I’ve noticed logs that don’t get much traffic have something in common - the owner of that log doesn’t interact with people on their log.

You have to give in order to get around here. I first noticed @dagill2 in some of my regular threads. He soon popped up in my log. Out of respect and curiosity, I began to look at this log. And now here we are.

I don’t know that Nutty really interacted in other people’s log much. He also only posted his workouts like they were an itinerary. There wasn’t much else besides that. I think we are all similar in that we enjoy the non lifting stuff just as much (if not more) as the lifting.

Anyway, that’s my theory on training logs.

I think you are spot on. The more you interact with others in their logs and more you get back. (Give and receive, hmm pretty sure I read that in a book a while back). I also think that if you add more than just the sets and reps and also invite response by posing questions in your log you get a lot more out of it.

I feel like we have a pretty solid group of dads here. It’s cool interacting with other dads who like to train hard. It’s also pretty awesome that no one has an ego. Criticism is taken well and usually results in some good dialogue.

I interact with others and nobody gives my log much love… booo hooo :sob:
I guess you have to be nice huh?

I check out your log all the time, but I’m not going to be handing out ā€œadviceā€ w/o proof of life…

Hard work does wonders to keep the ego in check.

You only have to prove yourself if you’re better than me!

If you train like he does, it’s a one way ticket to wreckedville. Injury, lots of it.

He’s had a minor injury what, twice in 3 years? With straight set programming.

It doesn’t work that way.

Nope, it doesn’t. At some point almost EVERYONE strong either ramps or waves or something. There are very, very, VERY few who can train in straight sets and low reps constantly without getting hurt, especially with weights as significant.

Chicken, it says ā€œThis user’s public profile is hidden.ā€ and I don’t know how else to find someone’s log.

Otherwise, I just chime in occasionally and read a bunch of logs. Once I’ve been at it for a few more months and am more confident my advice isn’t complete garbage I’ll probably start posting more in others’ logs. Also, apparently I need to reproduce.

Yeah, somebody was stalking a while back so I set it, and forgot it. My log says Death Stars in the O35. There’s really not much to love in my log. I was just being smartass.
