Very submaximal finger training to make sure any issues are ironed out for Friday, feeling good. Planned to do some hard conditioning after but then my little girl came out to train with me and we ended up with the whole family trying gymnastics on the lawn. Good times, but also made me curious to see whether working towards free standing handstands and handwalking might be a cool way to get some shoulder work in.

Was initially pretty disappointed today, didn’t do anything particularly hard, but the more i thought about it, the more i think thats just a result of the setting. Lots more physical routes in an interesting grade range on this set, so while i didn’t even try anything particularly difficult, i did have to do a whole lot of routes that i had to try on first.

Super easy workout today, because the 3:30 alarm was taking its toll by the time i got here. Knocked off 30k steps though, so not a write off day.

Positive is that i remember this exact workout feeling quite hard a few weeks ago, and it was really easy today.

This was much easier than expected, honestly feels like i’m riding a bit of a wave in terms of progress, feeling better and performing better. Not entirely sure what’s causing it, but would be really cool to ride it out to hit my next goal.

Was meant to be a try hard day, but got distracted by some more technical 7A’s with one of the setters. Probably got better today, probably didn’t get stronger. Will try and do some strength stuff later to compensate.

Worked up to 5 x 5s each hand with 35kg on a 10mm edge

Got my chalk out this time. I think that made a pretty big difference, because this was the heaviest i’ve done, but felt pretty comfortable.

Planned to finish off with some conditioning, but kids came out again so it turned into an impromptu game of football. Love that this keeps happening, to be honest.

Finished up with an ab circuit and some mobility.

Work for this morning:

3 hours bouldering. Smashed out most of the new set, plus a few projects on the comp wall. Had a guest IFSC setter in for this one, so the routes where pretty sandbagged but also really, really good.

Work for this evening:

100 pull ups spread over the course of 5 hours. Kind of remembered why i don’t do high volume pull ups anymore, my elbows are definitely barking a bit.

On the plus side, the pull ups felt stupidly easy.

2 hours of moderate bouldering.

Started out with a bit of Moonboarding, then got distracted setting some problems on the spraywall. Not a great session, coming off a few days of illness and in pretty high heat. Skin gave out pretty early. Poor me

Not really the planned workout, but technical issues with the timer, so modified it on the fly. Still feeling slightly off, but the weight is just falling off, so that might be a factor.
