10 Miles Back Again

Work for this morning:

Upper back warm up

Press:
4 x 1 @ 60kg

Bench:
5 x 50kg
5 x 60kg
5 x 62.5kg
5 x 10 @ 50kg

Press:
6 x 6 @ 50kg

JM press: some
Heavy partial laterals: some
Y-raises: some
Cable raises: some

Notes:

  • Feeling really beat up this morning. Workload isn’t very heavy, so i assume the calories are the cause.

Fun for this morning:

2 hours bouldering.

Tougher problems, so longer breaks. Could feel going in this wasn’t going to be a strong day, fingers aren’t recovering properly in between sessions, so tried to stick to more physical problems.

Bench (ss. Assorted back work):
5 x 50kg
5 x 60kg
5 x 67.5kg
5 x 10 @ 50kg

Curls: some

Notes:

  • Racking through the bench cycles quickly, and not recovering quickly enough. I think i need to force myself into doing at least one non-bench day per cycle, probably a leg day because i’m basically not doing any, because i don’t care.

Shhh. Don’t tell @Cyrrex you are benching

Can confirm, it is a waste of time.

Does it help that i’m not benching very much?

Yes. The less you bench, the more effective it becomes.

I support this statement. Bench sucks

I know I’m repeating myself… But you get to lay down! That’s a major plus.

Yeah, but then you have to get back up.

Sorry to detract from your log @dagill2 , but much like with @FlatsFarmer , @QuadQueen is one of those posters that, whenever I receive a like from them, my dopamine centers light up because it means I musta said something right.

So you’re absolutely in luck!

I am SO flattered and the feeling is mutual!!

I’m very, very lucky with the regular visitors to my log, for someone who’s not doing anything particularly impressive.

And i agree, @QuadQueen is one of the posters who, when they post, i listen up.

@QuadQueen i’m a big fan of your SELAD diet.

Play for this morning:

2 hours bouldering.

Lots of compression style moves that really taxed my biceps. I just found another weakness: awesome

I also noticed it earlier when i was washing my car (i don’t have any decent sized mirrors in my house, so i don’t do physique assessments often). It’s very obvious my biceps are significantly underdeveloped.

I didn’t know what your log title was or I’d be checking in!

I’m surprised your arms aren’t jacked with the climbing. I wonder how much more you could even handle without getting some real tendinitis. Happy to offer my $0.02 on the quickest routine ever if interested.

You guys are too sweet. Y’all are the reason I’ve been lurking on this forum for so many years. I’ve learned a so much from you - just knowing that I provide a little bit of value to guys like you absolutely makes my day.

You still kettlebelling on occasion?

I gotta throw in my plug from Dan John regarding the KB clean as a bicep builder. The only change I’ve made to my programming recently is my daily 5 minutes of Armor Building Complexes, but I have been getting constant and frequent comments about my arms from just total strangers recently, and I’ve noticed that my biceps actually have some manner of peak to them. As much as I hate to be “that guy” that talks about building biceps WITHOUT direct arm training, the clean really seems like an awesome bang for the buck there.
