10 Miles Back Again

On purpose?

Absolutely on purpose, yes.

Got unnecessarily chunky, so if strength is going on a slow simmer, it makes sense to slowly cut some of the flub away.

Good on ya!
I’ve made it a habit of checking these things before I make assumptions. Especially if I read about excessive stress.
Just like I’m never going to comment on someone’s weight loss or physique change if I’m not 100% sure that it was desired.

I cut calories drastically while I wasn’t able to train much, I’ve since increased them and am training a bit more. If I find time to train more, I’ll increase them further, but I can’t justify being in a calorie surplus when I’m only training twice a week.

This is the difference between you and I!

You’re real close to the ā€œhumane burpeeā€ here, if you’re looking to mix things up

I’ve done that one a few times, I like it until I start getting too clever with it…

Work for today:

TBDL (ss. BPAs):
5 X 3 @ 112.5kg

Press:
1 @ 70kg

Row:
1 double rest pause @ 70kg

Run:
30mins

Notes:

  • Got called away right after warm up, so had to cut out most of the ā€œextraā€ I had planned
  • Press was a spur of the moment decision because the bar was loaded and right there. Very pleased with that. Equalled a PR with no warm up, prep sets or fuss. Went up pretty easily too, barely cracked a 1 on the Simo scale.
  • Run was fine. Intervals again, but pushed the pace on them, especially the last one.

Nice press - that really did not take you long to get back to 70

And pretty casual too. I was literally in there deadlifting, saw the bar ready loaded and was like ā€œwell let’s do thatā€

Work for today:

100 burpees.

One of my colleagues has been moaning she was suffering crippling DOMs from doing 20 burpees so I didn’t really have a choice.

I thought we didn’t have a choice because @ChongLordUno does like 7000 a day…

I’ve done this twice. Once it took about 6 mins. That was shit.
The next time I think I’m still doing. I started doing 10 sets of 10 about 8 months back. I got a set or two in and gave up.

So technically I could still finish the last 7 sets and claim it.

@carlbm I just need some form of Cardio and/or conditioning that I can do inside with minimal equipment as it’s now British winter and I no longer have a gym membership. Sadly, burpees fit that bill.

Work for today:

Front squat (ss. BPAs):
5 x 5 @ 80kg

Press (ss. Pull ups):
5 x 20kg
5 x 30kg
5 x 40kg
5 x 50kg
8 x 55kg
5 x 10 @ 42.5kg

Notes:

  • Rainy and shit today. Not ideal in an open garage. Got the job done though. Will be glad when these 5 x 10s are over.

Great work! It’s cool to see you keep after it despite all the life stress!

How is that different from normal British weather?

It’s not. That is normal British weather. We’ve just come out of ā€œBritish summerā€, where it stops raining for several weeks though, so it’s a bit of a shock I think.

Not going to lie, my life isn’t all that stressful. Only one big external stressor right now and that’s not currently causing me a lot of grief, just an element of concern until we get the all clear. All the ā€œstressā€ or angst or whatever you want to call it is totally internal.

I hear that dude. Burpees in the front room. Not sexy, not glamorous but effective. And indoors!

Where are you based? In between Brighton and Eastbourne right?
