10 Miles Back Again

now that you mention it, I think I suffer from the same mindset- could explain my aversion to rows

But rows (I’m told) would help every one of the powerlifts.

Rows are the magical cure for everything.

We all know this to be true, don’t lie to yourself.

In that case, why do you pull sumo?

Best post of 2021: calling it.

Absolutely savage.

Well, if sumo is legal in powerlifting and sumo is easier- it sounds pretty rational to me to take advantage of a free pass :joy::joy:

Ouch!

Sumo is powerlifting! (…He said defensively)

Sorry dude, it was right there. Had to be done.

Always welcome to rip on sumo, I’m not precious!

Ironically, as a dead lifter with great mobility, short legs and who struggles most with weak quads in the deadlift, sumo would probably suit me well. Shame I’ll never know.

Haha, you never tried it? I do it because I feel like my spine will exit my body via my rectum on conventional deads.

You should try it, never know you might like it!

Maybe, might be absolutely ideal for me. I’ll probably never find out though.

Why not?

Sumo jokes aside, I just don’t get sumo pulling. I don’t really understand it so I tend to steer clear.

Fair enough, probably safer to steer clear, after sumo comes knee sleeves, a mega arching bench and a unitard. It’s a slippery slope.

I already use knee sleeves, but mostly because they stop my knees clicking so alarmingly.

This isn’t a problem, it’s keeping you alive.

Your digestive issues may actually be, at least in part, a result of your eating disorder.

I’m glad you have an appetite, that means that your body is operating sensibly.

Consider what inputs you give it to respond to. Your log predates the pandemic, so I’ll broadly consider that your resistance training has for the majority of the time when we’ve had back-and-forths on this topic been a stimulus to your body to get bigger, and get stronger. Yet, it hasn’t been given enough fuel to synthesise much in the way of mass historically. Furthermore, you keep asking it to maintain a excessive level of activity making it even harder to build muscle and if you were to end up in a surplus you might be breaking down your muscle tissue to such an extent that muscle isn’t what you are adding.

Starvation, being underfed, and being undernourished can all happen at any BMI. So, this is a moot argument.

Totally meant wraps, I use sleeves for the same reason, those noises are disgusting.
