So in a survival situation, no refrigeration, what do you do when you crack open a can that provides 54 servings of whatever? Have a “canned bacon binge” week perhaps? I can’t see it lasting more than 2 days at an ambient room temperature.

Was thinking the same thing. Open can of green peas? guess what you’re eating for the next 5 days?
Of course, this is assuming there’s one guy involved here. You could easily get 3-4 people to a shelter, buy them one survival pack each, and split the peas. Even then, say the peas go bad in a day, you’d just cut the binge down to one day instead of 5.

Exactly, still some of those single cans had 80 or more servings in them and the zombie horde won’t be looking for your leftovers. You would a whole encampment x the per-person unit cost to make it waste resistant.

Definitely need some shelter buddies to help eat 236 servings of eggs. It would be torture trying eating those alone before they spoil.
I spend about a hundred dollars a week on food and eat between 3,000-3,500 cals a day. So, at about a 1,000 cals a day for a year, I could do this for a 3rd of a year and save a shit ton of money while meeting my requirements. Simple economics folks!
This is actually a pretty good idea. If I had $800.00 to spare I might buy it. Seeing as this stuff lasts 20 years its actually a pretty good investment.
That stuff would be useless for a zombie attack.
Remember Rule #1: Cardio
You’d burn more cals than that.
i like that in the proteins/beans section they typically give you 3 cans per “meat” but they give you 6 for “bacon.”

Hahahaha omg this is how im spending my next 30 minutes watching his videos. So funny
Apparently the food is good for one year once opened so you don’t have to worry about eating 200 eggs in a week. Also, it doesn’t need to be refridgerated. A can opener and a water supply and you’re good to go.

You do realize this is an emergency food supply right? The effects of eating it for a year are probably a lot better alternative to not eating for a year.

Even still. You’d be better off just stocking up on some Metabolic Drive and Superfood…
It’s funny you mention this. While I sat bored at work today, I started thinking that if I ever built a bomb shelter and needed food for a year that required no cooking, I would pretty much load up with Metabolic Drive Complete, Superfood, Flameout, and FiniBar’s. Weird to think about…but a heck of a lot better then living off of texturized vegetable protein for a year![/quote]
Sounds like something I would do!

I just checked on their site, and the two main ingredients of all their TVP products are textured soy flour and partially hydrogenated soybean oil. An entire year of dieting on trans fat and estrogen. You’ll come out of that bomb shelter looking like Rosie O’Donnell!
i got out of high school in 1999, as we all know y2k was a big deal around 2000 and well nothing happened.
Well my buddy greg’s mom stocked up for y2k big time, Had and entire section of the garage used for y2k food.
Y2K never happened and i had a bunch of food to eat every time i went to gregs house…Oh youre hungery just grab sumfin off the Y2K shelf.
