so 25 days since I started starting strength again.
Ive only been in calorie excess (according to estimates) for about 8 days.
weight 211 → 213.5 (lol)
navel waist 35 → 36.5
body fat 12.95% → 14.85%
LBM 183.7 → 182.2
fat 27.3 → 31.8
So based on these measurements I have managed to lose muscle and gain fat on my strength training programme. (in which I have already broken through 3 personal records).
Add this to the fact that I have had maybe 10 small cheat meals through this 25 day period (e.g 1 muffin) ive been at least 90% clean.
So I then went and compared my other stats:
chest and arm are the same as they were at the end of my last starting strength program.
Legs have grown a full inch since the same last measurement!!
How in gods name have my legs gown an inch, and how am I squating and benching more than ever before, and my stats tell me im fatter with less muscle!!?!!
Every part of me knows I have put on muscle, I can see it on my legs in particular. I am physically stronger in every lift.
So basically these measurements are plain wrong.
The are great and accurate once you have settled into a program and things even out.
However I simply feel that the last 25 days of carbs and big lifts have revitalised and re’pumped’ my muscles.
I think my extra size on the measurements cant take into account varying water and glycogen levels. I though that this would have sorted itself out in the 1st 2 weeks, but it seems to still be effecting my stats comparison.

ill be continuing as before, maybe a little more concerned about my carb amounts and timing.
birthday this weekend, so as of Monday I will try and restrict the carbs to the morning and PWO.
right was my birthday weekend so i tried to limit the damage by having my workouts right before the big meals /drinks so that im hoping the massive calorie quantities may have done more than just create fat!
I had one night out, drinking about 20 double vodka and apple juices.
and had 3 junky meals, each time coming away stuffed.
there’s definately difference - arms are abt 1-2 inches thicker, triceps now visible, forearms have thickened, and from what i see the obliques and back appear to be more toned.
having taken measurements etc, my weight has not really changed overall for the month of June. this would usually piss me off, but now i know that my maintenance is 3900 cals.
so im proud of myself for not overeating for the sake of fast growth.
instead ive managed to restrain myself and find out some very useful information.
so now I go up to 4400 a day for a pound of growth a week hopefully!
