The new James Bond flick, coming to a cinema near you!
Release Date: November 7, 2008
Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.
Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.
On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.
In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organisation.
The Bond girl - from Hitman - is smoking though.
Ooh, I didn’t even realize the new Bond girl was the same girl from “Hitman”. She was sexy as hell in that movie.
As for “recent” Bond films, Pierce Brosnan didn’t do the character much justice. Daniel Craig is pretty bad-ass though, judging by Casino Royale at least.

I think it was more for the terrible fucking movies they made him play in. I always thought he had the ‘essence’ of James Bond, but there weren’t enough Goldeneyes to save his try at 007.
I have to say that when they ‘rebooted’ Batman I had no interest in seeing it as I was turned off by the earlier Batman movies. In fact I only saw it by accident because my roommate had rented it. I was blown away and eagerly look forward to Dark Knight! It was the same with 007. Didn’t see it in the theater cause I didn’t think it would be good, saw it at a friends place and think Casino Royal was top shelf! I think Quantum will not disappoint. It is a new 007 built from the ground up with out anything to hold it back! I still hope they’ll find a good way to squeeze Q (John Cleese) in there eventualy!
Best part of Casino Royale was when he drove to his place. Did a lap around the hotel entrance, “Welcome to my home”. Makes me lose my shit laughing every time.
I thought Brosnan had the look of James Bond but the way they went with the films sucked.
I loved Casion Royale, but didn’t like how Bond got hung up on the woman. Sean Connery would have back-handed that bitch, won the poker game, taken the money, and stuck it in her pooper.
After Connery the actors were all pretty boy types and the series tried to replace that little bit of grit Connery had with more (cheesy) wit. That and “wow” factor.
The last one worked because it had a more balanced and believable character with a storyline and action that wasn’t entirely insulting to the audience’s collective intelligence. Good storytelling takes you right up to the edge of plausibility and believability without ever crossing that line with North Korean super space lasers and Cuban face transplants.

The interesting thing about casino royale is it was a remake from the very first bond.
So it sets the stage for a connery style bond.
I have high hopes for this movie. I think bond is a more dark character in these new movies. I hope they continue with it.
