I wonder if they’ll have a “Q”-type character in this one. I love the gritty, realistic feel to the new Bonds, but a little humor would be fun too.
They did say something about more gadgets, but they also said they weren’t going to go overboard with them.

I loved Casion Royale, but didn’t like how Bond got hung up on the woman. Sean Connery would have back-handed that bitch, won the poker game, taken the money, and stuck it in her pooper.
This is Bond at the beginning. I think these first two movies you’ll see him progress into the cold hearted bastard we all know and love. Remember this line “The bitch is dead” from Casino Royale?

The interesting thing about casino royale is it was a remake from the very first bond.
So it sets the stage for a connery style bond.
I have high hopes for this movie. I think bond is a more dark character in these new movies. I hope they continue with it.

Very true. And the movie was damn close to the book, almost page for page. However, in the novel, Bond is/was still a seasoned vet at the time, womanizer, and all around badass. But I’m splitting hairs here… I’m still very excited about the new movie and I think Craig is the best Bond right behind Connery.
This movie looks sweet! I loved Casino Royale because they brought back the real Bond from the books. No more cartoonish over the top shit, just Bond being a coldhearted badass. Can’t wait for this one.

The hairs have been split.
Agreed he was more polished in the books. Although I like the character development from the movie stand point.
Menaing bond really become bond through a series of experiences that jaded him.

I didn’t really find her that attractive. I thought she was kind of dopey looking. The chick in the beginning of the movie who ends up getting killed was much hotter.

The producers said something about this. They wanted to distance themselves form the outlandish shit that they had in the Pierce Brosnan run and go for a more “real” Bond.
And… not hatin’ on Pierce or anything, but the new Bond actually looks like he could kill.

That is affirmative.
I disagree. I’d much rather ravage Green than whatever-her-name-is.

Did anyone else notice the character change toward the end of Casino Royale, or was that in my imagination?
Was this the “supposed” character change where Bond gets tougher and more dangerous after the Vesper experience? Can’t say I noticed. I think if you’re able to laugh while having your balls beaten by a frenchman, you’re as tough as they come.
Or was this the blatantly obvious screenplay fuck-up that has Bond turn into a romantic pansy for 10 minutes of assorted cliche love scenes with Vesper? “I have no armour left… you have stripped it from me…”. WTF?

How about whatever-her-name-is’ face and body + Green’s tits. As far as I can tell, that’s all she has going for her over the whatever chick.

If that is what they were going for then they accomplished it.
Bond over the years has become more about gadgets and quick one liners. The Daniel Craig ones are a return to better plot with a grittier edge.
I agree Daniel Craig looks stone cold in a lot of shots. I love it when he blows up the embassey and has an I don’t care attitude about it when talking to M

Rent the movie The Dreamers if you haven’t already.
