I started taking creatine around Jan this year, and I can’t say I’ve noticed anything different since I started using it. I take 5 grams after working out, it’s pure monohydrate creatine. This is the first supplement I’ve used in several years of training.

I see zero effects from it, why?

Man, you can’t just use creatine monohydrate. See, that junk isn’t absorbed through your transmembrane isokinetic reactive oxygen transporters well so you need a special type of creatine. I recommend CELL-MASS from BSN - I’ve used three bottles and I think I felt like I might have maybe felt kinda stronger one time the other day in the weight room.
/sarcasm
Some people don’t respond to creatine supplementation, like Freaky said.
I’ve used it for so long I have forgotten when its like to train without it.

^^^ Yea are you using a PWO drink like Surge? If you aren’t - that’s probably part of the reason.
Also - not sure if necessary - but have you tried going through the “induction” phase of 25 grams over 5 servings per day for a week?[/quote]
^^exactly my thoughts. \
Monohydrate must be loaded. Then a maintenance phase can occur PWO if you prefer. I prefer to take mine with apple juice. Correct me if i’m wrong but I believe Alpha-Lipoic Acid is also great at shuttling creatine into muscle cells.
Many people claim they are “non-responders” to creatine when in fact their results don’t live up to their expectations.
Creatine allows the body to use more ATP (adenosinetryphosphate) allowing the muscle to undergo more contractions. Fast twitch muscle fibers rely on glucose and ATP for energy to contract. Slow twitch fibers have more mitochondria in them and can get energy from Oxygen. Fast twitch fibers grow easier and are often the dominant muscles being used when lifting heavy weights. So the only way to notice creatine working is to notice a slight increase in strength and endurance, but nothing astronomical. This is due to the increase in ATP in the fast twitch muscle fibers.
One thing I noticed is that i’m slightly less sore due to the little amount of water monohydrate adds in my subq layer of my skin. I feel it helps to move lactic acid out of the muscle post training. Also taking it with a diet that consists of carbohydrates it also helps to replenish glycogen stores pwo. So to sum it up, you really won’t notice a TON of gains off creatine. More than placebo, yes. Wonderdrug…no. My opinion of course
