Without question - I would have done the same, and was planning on doing the same, had the Republican contest been uncompetitive at the time it rolled around in my state.
You have a vested interest in who wins the presidential contest - even if the person who wins isn’t your first choice.
I’d encourage all Republicans/independents to do the same in the remaining states - and it is perfectly good politics.
