Speak for yourself. Kind of a hyjack but this came up during the justin beiber thread to. Why do people at any age think it is ok to accept that they wont be rich? Movie star money aint shit compared to IPO money. You know that Colonel Sanders didnt even make his millions until his late 60s…
not everyone gives a shit about being rich
not everyone gives a shit about being muscular
those people are weird
of all of the things i truley do not get about life and human behavior it is that. When i see skinny dudes my brain implodes.
on a serious note, if someone is happy being skinny, then I think fair enough. Same if someone is overweight; if they’re happy with how they are then fair enough.
The thing I don’t understand though is people who are fat/skinny and hate it, but they don’t do anything about it. I watch a LOT of tv about massively fat people, and they’re always crying about how fat they are and how they can’t look at themselves in the mirror etc etc, but yet they don’t do anything about it. That’s what I don’t understand.
I was skinny, I didn’t like it so I started lifting weights (still a bit skinnier than I’d like though…). I’ve got a mate who’s admitted to me he hates being skinny (the guy’s like 5’ 6" and can’t weigh more than 110lbs. He looks like he’s 11 years old and he’s 28) but yet he refuses to go to the gym to do anything about it.
I dunno, just seems strange to me. If you don’t like your situation and you have the power to change it, why wouldn’t you?
i kinda agree but you unless you’ve been fat it’s hard to understand what it’s like.
Food cravings have the same mental effect as addiction to heroin.
The end of overeating by david a kessler is a really good read about this. The brains chemistry can actually be changed by food and food manufacturers take advantage of this a design food to be addictive.
Sweet + fat = train wreck ie donuts.
Sweet + salt + fat = nuclear bomb ie brioce bun and a burger is pretty much game over. pancakes bacon and syrup is another example.
Cinnabon spent about 12 months and made 1000’s of buns to get the correct formula to cause these kinds of changes int he brain, literally rewiring the brain to ‘need’ them.
I know it sounds like a load of horse shit but i’ve been there (kinda still am) Morbidly obese is kinda extreme and i am no where near that. but i am overweight and i can tell you food is a problem for and an actual struggle.
I say the same about drug addicts, why don’t they just quit? the pussies, i have never been there so it impossible to know what is going on.
it’s easy to say ’ why don’t they just do this and that if they hate it so much’ yes it can be done but it is a lot easier said than done.

Good points from both you guys. This is why I like the idea of “Positive Changes” hypnosis center. My mom tried a free introductory session and said after the session that the smell of anything sweet made her nauseous. And the effect lasted for a full two weeks. I think it is the kind of mental intervention over-eaters need.
