Thursday(4/02) Day 4(Overhead Day 2)

  1. Axle Press

  2. Bench Press
    1x3(205lbs), 1x3(225lbs), 1x9(250lbs)
  3. Lat Pulldown
    3x12(200lbs)
  4. 1-Arm Standing Cable Row
    3x10/side(50lbs)
  5. Hammer Curls 5x10(40lbs)
    Tricep Pushdowns 5x12(80lbs)
    Side Lateral Raises 5x15(20lbs)

Notes

  • Good day of training, the axle strict press wasn’t that bad, the 1x3 set felt smooth, focused on getting my head through the window as soon as possible. Really helped my lockout. RPE 8
  • AMRAP Bench set, got 9, could have gotten a few more but one of my wrist wraps exploded after my 6th rep so it threw me off my groove.
  • All the accessory work went well, nothing really to report there
  • 5 rounds again for the 12minute density set. Had about 45seconds left over after the 5th round. WIll go for 6 this week.
  • Will bounce back on diet after easter disaster

Tuesday(4/3) Day 1(Squat/Deadlift)

  1. Deadlift:
    1x5(135lbs), 1x5(225lbs), 1x5(315lbs), 1x3(405lbs), 1x3(455lbs), 1x3(505lbs), 1x3(525lbs)
  2. Axle Deadlift:
    1x5(305lbs), 1x3(355lbs), 1xAMRAP(385lbs, 12 reps)
  3. SSB Squat:
    1x3(275lbs), 1x3(305lbs), 1x3(325lbs)
  4. GHR 5x10(BW)
    Reverse Sled Drag 5x15yards(405lbs)
    Valslide Body Saw 5x10(BW)

Notes

  • Put in some good work today, happy with how the main lifts felt.
  • Deadlifts went smooth, some really great speed on all 3 reps. Another RPE 7. Had plenty left in the tank
  • Upped the weight quite a bit this week on the axle deads. Still able to get 12 reps easy on the amrap set with no sign of my grip failing.
  • Finally getting used to the SSB Squats, the 1x3 @ 325lbs that felt like an 8 last week were a 7 this week.
  • Managed to get 5 rounds this time on the density set, shows that my conditioning is improving.

Notes

  • 3 Strict and 7 Push presses, wrist wraps exploded halfway up on the third rep, threw me off my groove. Want 3 or more strict presses next week
  • Happy with the dumbbell presses, really worked on getting the setup right on my shoulder for each rep instead of rushing through it. Elbows up, made a big difference.
  • Still too fat for pull-ups
  • Pysched that I got 6 rounds in this weeks density circuit, was gassed afterwords, but it means that my conditioning is improving.

So should I go from 6 a day to 5? Or should I make a more dramatic cut and go from 6 to 3?

Just like a true caloric deficit…go big or go home…really test that willpower hahaha

Notes

  • Did alright on the holds today, think i gave up mentally before my grip gave up. Really need to work on the mental aspect of this grip strength event, cause I know I can do more.
  • Same set up for the husafell as last week, was alot faster this week, felt more like sprints. Have to pick it up from the ground, so im trying to work on the best/fastest way to do that.
  • Whether did not permit for tires today, so I did log cleans again. Went for some more volume this week.
  • Noticed that my technique has improved significantly within the week, just by focusing on the different cues. Was extremely confident with the 260 clean, both singles went up very fast without a problem. Probably and RPE 7-8, had some more in the tank.
