that’s hilarious I just had elemenary flash backs of oregon trail!!

1)Doom 2 (wolfenstein was awesome but doom 2 took it to the next level and though I love Duke Nuken as well Doom 2 has more roots for me) It was my all time fav {iddqd idkfa! MF!} until
2) Half-life which I did beat and that game was crazy awesome
3)spycraft (I didn’t see it mentioned but it had a lot of k0ol things in it
4)The 11th Hour!!! pulled all nighters and beat this one crazy puzzels, cool story, great graphics and scary
5)loved being the soviets in red alert, loved warcraft 2, starcraft a little later it was all awesome! This last fifth one is a hard pick.

Growing up I played many of those old games listed including DOS ones and I think they’re polar opposites when compared to newer games. They were groundbreaking in their time, but it seems to me the current advancements in gameplay, graphics, and atmosphere in the storytelling just blow them away.

However, honorable mentions are:

  1. Blood (One Unit Whole Blood Edition)
  2. HeXen: Beyond Heretic (Actually the entire Heretic/HeXen series is one of my favorites)
  3. Quake
  4. DOOM and DOOM II: Hell on Earth
  5. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

My current 5 favorite single-player games are:

  1. Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition (May be replaced by Fallout: New Vegas GOTY)
  2. Mass Effect 2 with DLC
  3. Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition
  4. Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
  5. Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition

Honorable mentions for “newer games” are:

  1. BioShock 1 and 2
  2. F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
  3. Dead Space
  4. Resident Evil 5
  5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  6. Quake 4

no order

Dune 2
Starcraft
