???
The original story has an “edited” feel to it.
I just think that there is a little more to this story since it’s apparent that the school and the Sherriff’s Department has dealt with this parent before.

Still confusing.
-
Cumberland County Tennessee…not exactly a bastion of Liberalism.
-
What was the School Policy?
-
What prompted the Policy?
-
To what extent does the Policy balance between the issue that prompted the District to initiate the Policy, and ones Constitutional Rights.
This man may have a very legitimate concern; I’m not saying he doesn’t.
With that being said, something doesn’t “sound/feel” right.

“1) Cumberland County Tennessee…not exactly a bastion of Liberalism”.
Agreed, but if the policy can happen there, it can happen anywhere.
" 2) What was the School Policy?"
That parents need to line up outside in their cars 'til School’s out at 2:35.
The form the School Secretary handed him to sign but REFUSED to sign was a
authorization form to release the student…but why should he be required to sign it?
He simply wanted to pick up his kid.
“3) What prompted the Policy?”
Like Schools need a reason? IDK Man…New workplace, School and Government policies
are implemented all the time for no apparent reason other than to keep everyone in line,
just ask anyone who’s worked for anyone else.
It’s enough to make me wonder if I should trust my child to any state school or hospital.
Uh-oh I’m an extremist.
My understanding of the situation, from the articles I have read, is that the school dismisses at 2:00 PM for parent pickup by vehicle and bus and 2:35 for walkers. There are still missing links to this. Some have stated that he parked his car in the line and then went in to get his kids essentially skirting the wait in line.
I’ve seen people do this at my son’s school and it is infuriating because it is an even bigger safety issue. If that is what he was doing then that will lead to a bigger mess once others start trying to do it this way. If he’s parked elsewhere then it shouldn’t be an issue. I’ll wait to see what how the rest of the story pans out before condemning either side.
What I’m wondering is why not dismiss walkers and bus riders at 2:00 and make vehicle pickup available at say 2:15 or 2:20?

They have to separate foot traffic from vehicle traffic. With walkers at the same time as bus traffic you would be mixing them, then following the bus traffic with regular vehicle traffic.
By holding the walkers until after the other vehicles have dispersed at least they aren’t navigating the higher density mix of buses and parents vehicles in an immediate area.
The father seems like a trouble maker. He admits to having been in jail before. He knows the school policy and rules but chose to make a scene rather than address the matter with school officials at an appropriate time and place. He is no different than those idiots who walk around with AR-15s or open carry pistols in places where it is not common just to attract police attention and put up a Youtube video of how they are being oppressed.
It is mocking the rights that people died to preserve. The way he threatened with law suits came off as womanly. The way the cop reacted showed that this guy has a habit of pushing his weight around and wanting to do things his way. The school has safety and liability issues to think about. They have to release kids in an orderly fashion. If he thinks there is a better way then why not go to a board of ed meeting with other parents who feel the same way and do things like an adult?
And am I the only one who finds that Brit, or whatever he is, creepy? Someone from the country that we had to defeat in war to get the rights we have is going to preach to me about freedom? Also, the way he said “take possession” and “his kids” made it sound like he was talking about personal property and not human beings.
