Your Favourite Scenes In Film

This is another favourite of mine, it’s far more powerful in relation to the last scene of the film and the story surrounding both of them, but nonetheless Day-Lewis’ acting here is incredible. The rage when Eli forces him to acknowledge his life and his adopted son, with Plainview’s character knowing that he can’t get up and leave, is as intense and deep as any I’ve seen, even if it is just for a few short seconds.

The similarity, but juxtaposition, between this and the final scene of the film is grueling. (Spoilers) To see that from this scene, Plainview fosters a deep and ever present hatred of Eli through his audacity to abuse his temporary power over Plainview, right up until the end of the film and then for Plainview to turn it right back onto him and ruin the little he has left of his life is incredibly satisfying.

Climax of the final scene here for reference.

As wildly unpredictable and hilarious as this scene is, I love to see Plainview get his kicks from breaking Eli apart inside and then flying into a monstrous rage right there in the bowling alley. Both scenes on their own are brilliantly made and acted, but together they are something on a whole other level.

TDK!!

I love Ledger’s Joker, this scene is brilliant. The Batman interrogation scene is incredible as well, of all the things I thought about Ledger, I never assumed he would be able to act as flawlessly as that.

Really great scenes so far. Well done…

Ending scene from Breaker Morant.

I love The Hopper and Walken seen in True Romance, in fact thinking back, I love all of Walken’s cameos. Seeing Hopper’s smirk and laugh when he knows he’s not getting out of the trailer alive, and decides to get in Walken’s face so heavily that he’s forced to deal him a quick death is amazing. Easily the best scene from the film, second would be the motel scene with Arquette and Gandolfini.

Did they come out with two versions of Heat? I don’t remember that music playing back when I saw it. If they cut it, I think I’m glad they did, it kind of messes with the dialogue towards the end there.

The final battle scene in Top Gun, where Tom Cruise chokes up, and asks Goose to “talk to him.” Kinda liked it as a kid.

The first and last 10 minutes of both Gladiator, and Saving Private Ryan.

The first 30 minutes into the original “David and Goliath” from 1960, with Orson Welles, both my dad and my uncle were in that movie.

This movie fall under the category of watched fifty times.

The very ending of Missouri Breaks is good too. Not a great movie per say but a favorite ending for sure. It would spoil it if I showed a clip.

My favorite movie. Hard to pick one scene.

This movie had loads of good scenes.

The ecstasy of gold scene is also one of my favorites. And now for some trash testosterone movie scenes I just love:

Street Fighter - I think its one of the funniest movies. And Kylie Minogue is hot.

Predator - my favorite action movie. This is how it should be done, imo.
I just love the beginning: The helicopter ride with little richard playing, awesome.

Commando: some of the best one-liners I have ever heard, especially:

Army of Darkness Boomstick

Ferrell and Wahlberg are geniuses. I’ve never laughed so often and so hard as during this film. Imma throw another terrific scene up.

I don’t know anyone that would ever dispute this being Kathy Bates’ best performance ever. Looking back at everything else she’s been involved with, it’s insane how great a film this actually is. (She’s had some great ones over time, but the vast majority are horrendous.)
