Your Experiences

I’m going to be starting my first cycle in about six weeks and I have been doing quite a bit of reading. Some of the best sources of information I have come across were just people’s experiences, sometimes it is reassuring to just have an idea of what to expect.

This request mainly goes out to vets but anyone’s relevant experiences are welcome, so could you please post up your experiences.

Topics I’m particularly interested in are:

Gains during first cycle,

Unforeseen circumstances and how you over came them,

Side effects and how you have learned to control them (i.e. acne during first cycle),

And what you would do different?

I believe this could be very useful for me and possibly others looking to start in the near future.

Regards,

I did my first cycle this Spring so I can understand why you would want first hand experiences as there is a lot of info out there to decipher, not all of it good. I’ll share mine.

  1. Gains during first cycle: I gained 15lbs on my cycle which is what I was expecting/hoping for after all the research I had done. The one thing that really surprised me was the strength gains though. I started to notice strength gains at around week 3 and then it just took off. Every workout was like a guessing game, how much weight can I lift this time? Now, I’m probably going to get flamed for this and people will probably call bullshit because I can’t prove it but I put 100lbs on my bench press. In 10 weeks.

Now, quick back story, years ago I hurt my shoulder playing hockey and wasn’t able to do any chest pressing for a long time. After my shoulder healed I just really never got into the whole bench pressing thing, focused on squats and deadlifts because I enjoyed those lifts. Well I decided to bring up my upper body to match my lower body with strength levels and started to bench press during my cycle. I didn’t do any focus work, just added in the lift once a week. It went from 185lbs to 285lbs. Was it from my cycle? Was it because I was strong in other areas and actually tried bench pressing? Both? All I know is that when I started I could only press 185, and at the end of my cycle I could press 285. Weird or what?

  1. Unforeseen circumstances: There were two. The first was injection pain, and I’m not talking about the actual injection process, I mean the day after. The muscle area that I injected into felt like it had been kicked by Alister Overeem. It wasn’t red or swollen or anything like that, it just felt like a really bad charlie horse that lasted for about 3 days. After week 2 there was no more pain and I didn’t walk like I had to poo anymore. Upon further research it appears that it was because of ‘virgin muscle’, or muscle that had never been injected into before.

The second, and I was expecting it but didn’t know how bad it was going to be, was how horny I was. Do you remember back as a kid before discovering moisturizer cream, and how you would masturbate until your dick became raw? And then you would masterbate around the raw area to still get off? It was like that.

  1. Side effects: Oh the dreaded side effects, if you watch the news you probably know that your penis will shrink and you’ll grow boobs and shoot up a school. Sadly, this did not happen to me. My penis has always been average, my girlfriend has boobs big enough for the both of us and I live in Canada which means I can’t buy any cool guns, but I digress.

I didn’t experience any negative side effects. Yes, my balls did shrink a little but I was expecting that to happen and they returned to normal size after everything was all said and done. A note regarding ball shrinkage, I was actually expecting my balls to shrink to the size of raisins for some reason. Not sure why but I don’t remember reading anything on how small they actually got so I expected the worse. Well, they do shrink a little, but it wasn’t a huge difference. In fact, unless you felt them you couldn’t really tell there was much of a size difference (insert small junk jokes here, fuckers).

I didn’t loose any hair, my joints never hurt and my skin was normal. I’ve actually had a little backne since I was a teenager so I’m not sure if it would have appeared if my skin was perfectly clear, but it did not get any worse.

Also, my nipples were never sore and there was never any issues with gyno.

The only thing I can think of which was annoying was when I decided to go for a run around the block. It was a pretty quick loop around my place, usually took about 15 minutes and I usually did it 2 or 3 times a week after dinner. Well, the first time I did the loop when on cycle my calves pumped up so much that I had to stop about 1/2 way through and sit on some guys lawn until the pump/spasms subsided enough that I could walk a bit. It took me about 30 minutes to walk the rest of the way because they were pumped up so bad, probably looked funny to cars driving by. I attemped the run again the next week and the same thing happened only this time it was worse because I kinda had to shit. Stopped doing the run until after my cycle was over and everyting was normal. I had awesome pumps while in the gym lifting as well so I can see the correlation and why I would get the crazy calve pumps.

  1. What I would do different: Nothing actually. I did my research for years before I did a cycle and never felt like things were unsafe or out of control. I followed a basic beginner cycle of Test E, and used proper PCT. Although, I did waste 50$ buying the wrong size needles because I was a dumbass and felt ashamed to be buying needles at the pharmacy for some reason. I kept procrastinating and pacing the aisles of the store and kept thinking that everyone knew what I was up too. I even wore a baggy sweater so no one could tell I worked out and were maybe thinking I had diabetes or something. Anyhoo, I got flustered and forgot what size to buy and opened the box (I bought 100, cause I assumed that if I didn’t buy a lot they would discover what I was doing, kinda like how Bruce Wayne orders thousands of cowl parts when making his Batsuit as to not arouse suspicion) and couldn’t return them. Then I went to another pharmacy and bought the proper size and it was no big deal. The girl behind the counter even helped me out which was nice.

As a side note, while on cycle I felt really awesome. I’m generally a really happy person, but the sun seemed to shine just a tad brighter. I wanted to climb the mountains that I can see out my office window for some weird reason and couldn’t wait to lift heavy things at the gym. My recovery ability was pretty cool too, I could hit a body part today and hit the same one tomorrow if I really wanted to.

Again, this is just my experience and I imagine that not everyone’s will be the same. Looking forward to reading the rest of the responses.

Perfect mate, exactly the sort of thing I was hoping for. Hopefully others will drop in.

Pretty much everything j70 said. All my cycles have been great, as long as you research and really understand how it all works it can be a great experience. I usually gain 15-20 lbs a cycle, I have a few cycles under my belt and have cycled with deca, dbol, test E, and mast and never had any bad sides, just a little acne here and there but nothing bad.

The pain from injection goes away the second week nothing some ibprofin can’t fix. Also the sense of well being on cycle is great, you feel great and usually i seem like I’m always in a better mood and hitting the gym was like when you first started lifting where gains came fast and you get the excitement again everyday wondering how much your gonna put up.

I wouldnt do anything different I took my time with each cycle not getting too crazy everytime just adding one compound every cycle. Take things slow do the research and it all can be a great experience joining the dark side

I attempted one of these threads once but sadly very few vets ever chime in on them…

My first cycle was 12 weeks of ~500mg test E for 12 weeks, with 75mg of anavar a day for the first 6 weeks. 6 weeks post PCT I had 8lbs more muscle mass, and kept all my strength. I was recovering from a flare-up of an old back injury at the time so I couldn’t do too much for legs. Had my back been ok I reckon I could’ve got another 4lbs or so. No sides or anything like that.

cycle number two is 8 weeks of prop with 6 weeks of NPP and 2 weeks of var at the end. Starts tomorrow, yeehaw!

Yeah, its a long shot but have enjoyed reading you experience so far so I’m hoping others drop in. I’m not naive enough to listen to mainstream but its good to hear real life experiences.

My first cycle was a recomp cycle with 350 mg/week each of Test Prop/Tren Ace with T3 (75 mcg/day) and Clen (40 mcg/day). I threw the T3 in about halfway through and the clen for the final 4 weeks, so they were not all overlapping. It was a very haphazard cycle and I made some changes as I went but overall I was satisfied with the results.

It was a recomp cycle and I ended up losing close to 30 pounds, 7% bodyfat while improving my strength (hit PRs in both bench and deadlift while on the tren). I think the cycle ended up being 14 weeks, but the last 4 weeks or so were without tren.

My diet was spot on during this time as I was working with a big name diet coach, so I’m sure that played a huge role, and I was highly compliant. But the drugs were certainly frosting on the cake (that I couldn’t eat since I was dieting haha).

Next time, I will start the T3 and clen from the beginning and run it the entire time, with a better defined end date. Since I am on TRT it doesn’t really matter how long I cycle for, recovery wise, so I have some leeway there.

Second cycle was what most would consider a good beginner mass cycle, with 750 mg/week of Test Cyp with a 4 week run of Dbol at 30 mg/day to start.

I was getting some ridiculous sides from the Cyp and Dbol–awful cramps and back pain mostly. I stopped the Dbol after 3 weeks and things got a bit better but was still in a lot of pain. Went and got my bloodwork done and found my estrogen was a bit higher than it should have been, and I think the extra water retention was pressing on my nerve endings and causing the pain. Upped my Aromasin dose from 12.5mg 3x/week to 25 mg 3x/week and this largely went away.

Overall I gained about 15 pounds, some fat, and not a whole lot of strength, which was somewhat disappointing. I was not really happy with this cycle, especially from a strength perspective, and have decided that high test just isn’t a good cycle for me. All my cycles from here on out will probably include tren since I reacted so favorably to it last time.

For my next cycle, which I plan to run sometime this winter, I will probably settle on:

-200 mg/week Test Cyp (my TRT dose)
-700 mg/week Tren Ace
-25 mcg/day T3 to help fat gain

Aromasin will probably be at TRT levels since Tren doesn’t aromatize (TRT Asin is 12.5 mg 2x/week) with HCG as well since I am now taking that from my doctor.

Bump. Anyone else have any experiences they wanted to share? Its a new year and all!

Well I can say this, its not always easy when you first start using, the learning curve, they soreness, injection pain, learning what goes with what and when, little gyno flare up , hair loss, an abscess and all the other bullshit that doesn’t really matter in the long run. I have learned in my experience that AAS, fully researched and used in moderation has probably lead to the greatest improvement in my quality of life than any other single thing, period.

Not trying to go all Zen but isnt that what the iron game is all about, to better ourselves mentally and emotionally through physical discipline and training? AAS is a great tool for learning for those who can respect it and use wisely.

My first cycle was a bulk with Test-E @ 500mg/week for 12 weeks, with Dbol @ 40mg/day for weeks 1-6. I was 6’3" and 220 at the beginning of the cycle.

I gained 26lbs at my heaviest, and after PCT, I kept 18lbs.

Overall it was very enjoyable. I had no real post injection pain from the Test-E, and the Dbol provided a solid kickstarter.

I had no side effects to speak of other than the standard shrunk testicles, a tinge of arrogance in my personality! No acne, no extra body hair, no loss of head hair.

Some things I would change…

  1. Cycle length: Looking back, 12 weeks (+2 week wait until PCT) was too long. I hit my heaviest weight at about week 8/9, and the final 3 weeks I very much plateaued. I think a 10 weeker (+2 week wait until PCT) is enough to begin.

  2. I held too much water, until I added Adex @ .50mg EOD in week 3. As soon as I added this in, I flattened back out. It worked a treat I beleive, as when I came off the Dbol, I experienced no weight loss.

  3. I ate too much lol. I gained too much fat. I have pulled it back since, but I could have saved 3 months if I had tracked my macros more carefully and not gone in with the, “Eat everything in sight” attitude.

  4. If I was to take any more compounds, i’d probably add HCG on cycle. If you can prevent your bollocks from shrinking for a small price, you should.
