Reason enough for my vote. Criminalizing pot (and standing behind the decision despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary) is probably one of our country’s biggest fuck ups since allowing slavery. Think of the million’s wasted trying to police a substance infinitely less harmful than alcohol… sigh
I agree 100%… I don’t like the idea of socialism either (again libertarian here)… but I would take it over the heavy handed policies of Trump OR the scandalous over spending of Hillary… both of which are likely to rob us of liberties, both of which are likely to send us into global depression, both of which are likely to do irreparable damage to our country… my point is Bernie is the best “worst” choice we have (and sadly he’s a long shot).
There was a time when men of vision and character ran this country… neither Trump or Hillary fit that bill. I’ll be the first to admit saying Bernie Sanders is the closest thing to that we could currently hope for is beyond sad… but it’s the sad truth.
I think the biggest “fuck up” as you call it has been legalized abortion. As for the pot argument I’m not here for that as it would take up multiple pages and would change nothing. People do what they want to do not because of logic or even (usually) health they do things because they feel good. So I will leave that alone. Suffice it to say that I don’t my President to be a stoner…or an alcoholic.

I first heard of the slavery to war on drugs argument presented in Michael Moore’s documentary where to invade next.
The argument goes like this:
The war on drugs was created to arrest black men en masse to use them as cheap labor while in prison no different than their ancestors who were also shackled and forced to work.

I was just thinking of the millions of babies that have been aborted since 1973. I am also thinking that many of them especially over the past few decades have been abortions of convenience. Knowing that one can get an abortion sometimes (perhaps often it seems) causes those having sex to not take proper precautions.
Seems kind of sad to me that life is not more respected.

I don’t see how any self respecting woman could vote for Hilary? Just based on the fact she stayed with Bill Clinton after all his cheating scandals. I assume most would think she is not a very strong willed woman and doesn’t have any self respect. But it is politics so none of that really matters.
Just something to take into consideration. Trump is losing big time financially due to this run, so if you mean financially I do not think that’s the case.
Here’s my opinion: He is getting on in age, met his life goals and now wants to leave the place better for his many children and grandchildren by implementing his vision for America. Whether you consider his vision for America good or not is different discussion.
He understands evoking emotions, never backing down, saying things in an over-the-top manner are the tactics best used to get ahead of the pack. You either don’t like this, or don’t see it for what it is - a tactic.

The Buddhist in me (the part that respects human life, wishes to foster compassion etc) agrees… the pragmatist in me (that realizes our rise in population is unsustainable, and most people have no business procreating anyway) disagrees.
The sad fact is, our country is in such a place that Darwinism is failing. The intelligent, productive members of society aren’t having kids until much later in life (if at all), while the mouth-breathing masses are breeding like rabbits. Need evidence just look at our current political candidates.
