I knew a guy that dropped a 455 into one of these, he could run low 11’s at the local track.

that’s pretty retarded considering some exhaust upgrades would get a near stock one into the high 11s low 12s anyways.
way to destroy a piece of history.
sure you’re not mistaking it for a Monte Carlo?

Thats exactly what I was thinking.

I have a MB SLK and it’s about to go into the shop for the 3rd time (not including oil change/tune up) and it only has 15,000 miles on it.
The sad thing is my company makes 90% of the parts for it ![]()
I believe this time it’s only a computer glitch or an O2 sensor though. Before the problems were with the computer that controls the stability and traction control system as well as the roof.
Just a thought ![]()

positive. I had an 85 Monte Carlo, which I absolutely loved.
I lost touch with the guy quite some time ago, but straight pipes were in the works.
piece of history? I’m pretty sure it wasn’t driven by anyone famous, and was definitely in worse condition when he bought it.
you hated monster garage didn’t you.

You spoke for me…
The picture I posted is a picture of my friends gnat, pushing about 650 or so hp to the wheels. Runs mid to high 10s depending on where he sets the boost (He doesnt like burning up engines, he keeps it low more often than not)
Putting a 455 into a buick turbo car is just downright ridiculous. I am offended. Nothing beats the buick turbo sound.

The Buick Grand National is a legacy, it was affordable by most Americans during its time, and it was nicknamed the corvette killer. Most domestic street cars come nowhere near the power of the Buick Grand National, and at that time, neither did any imports. Of course, you could always throw an italian name out, but that is unrealistic seeing as how no one in the states has the top of the line ferrari.
The 3.8L V6 was more powerful turbo’d than most V8s, which just goes to show what kind of amazing engineering GM had during that time.

no offense, but you must not be that much of a car guy, to not know that GN’s aren’t that common. And to be able to mod a 6cyl Turbo to perform that well is rather good IMO.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a V8 guy all the way, just never heard of someone swapping out a proven combo like that.

I don’t cry when someone cuts up a mustang, but a GNX or an E-type and I weep for days.
It’s like a 10 year old “upgrading” the Mona Lisa with crayons.

duely noted.
if it was actually in good working condition when he bought it it would be a different story. I don’t know, I just love the idea of doing completely unorthodox things to vehicles.
what’s your opinion of lowered rides? is it ok on some rides and not others? (obviously not on Grand Nationals…)

yeah I’m not that much of a car guy I guess, to me big numbers equal big power, I thought it was cool.

touche. But like you said it was in rough shape.
I’m not a fan of “low-riders”, but lowering cars is not a bad thing.

Lexus LF-A

and a murdered out barracuda, aka “The bad motherfucker”

And a murdered out murcielago would also just make my fucking day

Not a huge car guy, but I’ve always wanted an El Camino.

I would love this car (Charger) but in black.
I would pretty much take any year from '66 to '78
