Right before I saw this I was about to make a post making clear that the OP’s biggest failing BY FAR is the fact that he thinks the bullshit little pet peeves he listed are his biggest failings. In fact, I’m disappointed in almost everyone’s half-hearted attempts at introspection in this thread. I figured we’d see some people be a little more honest with themselves.
To be fair, I don’t consider what I posted to be pet peeves, but rather things I am very bad at. Additionally, it’s not like I created the thread with your opinion in mind so I didn’t consider what other people would think I should post. This isn’t an attack on you, just me pointing out why my bullshit peeves are what I listed.
One of my character flaws (in my mind) is that I’m extremely introverted. I am perfectly content to be by myself for days at a time, which isn’t a bad thing-- it just curtails my motivation so socialize. But, that’s something I’ve thought about for a long time so I make it a point to consistently push myself outside of my comfort zone.
Is that better DB? If not, then go see a dentist about your horrible teeth!

So…in other words, when you made the thread and called it “your biggest failings”, with “your” ostensibly referring to the rest of the T-Nation, you really meant some of the things that YOU are bad at?
I see. So, it seems that you speak in some sort of modified version of English, eh? I’m down with all that weird shit too man, just keep it at home until it spreads a little further and becomes a part of the English-speaking world’s more widely-accepted vernacular. We don’t have the code to understand the language that you’re currently speaking, so do everyone a favor and speak regular English, okay?
And no, it’s not better. You asked and I’m gonna tell. What you listed is just a simple insecurity of yours. That’s not a failing, that’s just how you are at this point in life and that’s okay. You haven’t done anything WRONG in that respect.
What will happen later on is that you’ll overcome this introverted nature of yours with excessive amounts of alcohol and cocaine and then this “failing” of yours will seemingly disappear. But it won’t. No, you’ll end up making some really stupid decisions along the way, and then to exacerbate the situation further you’ll fail to respond to these mistakes very well, all owing to your drug- and alcohol-induced slow suicide. And then you’ll have some REAL failings to talk about. I’ve been there, I know you will as well. Have fun, or as the great Hunter S. Thompson used to always say, buy the ticket, take the ride.
Because this is the internet, I’m going to highlight one minute and almost irrelevant aspect of your statement. I am going to pick and choose at your use of the phrase “English-speaking world’s more widely-accepted vernacular”. American-English, to which I assume you are referring is most certainly one of the more widely accepted vernaculars. Of the top ten English speaking countries in the world, 53% of the population speaks English as a second, or third-language. Granted, 53% may seem high, but that’s only the top ten.
You’re an idiot. The English-speaking world simply refers to the world that speaks it as its first language or where English is the dominant, primary language. All this bullshit about percentages and second and third languages is meaningless and you either mistook what I said, which is your fault and not mine because my fucking use of the language is near-perfect, or you are simply having problems communicating what it is that you’re thinking in your head about my use (notice I didn’t say “misuse”) of a phrase.
Either way, I wouldn’t expect someone with poor command of the language who is apparently speaking in code to fully grasp what I said either and even if he somehow miraculously did, I certainly wouldn’t expect him to pull off the unthinkable and actually communicate it properly on top of that. I’m a percentages kinda’ guy.
It clearly didn’t come across, but I was being facetious. Hence the absurd preface of focusing on minutia.
Unless of course you too are being facetious.
