From today, trying to load todays videos but having a rough go of it. A gentleman told me I was favoring my left arm on bench so he offered to film it for me, so I did it for another rep, then I video’ed my squat and deadlift for today, here’s hoping it works.
Hope the toe feels better soon and heals quickly. Nice squatting and benching. I may be wrong but I didn’t notice any imbalance in your press, it looked smooth and controlled.
I think I have this everyday lifting thing figured out (for me at least), by switching up intensity and volume while sticking to compound movements I am seeing some positive results, and after 3 weeks I feel I am getting stronger so that has to be a good thing right?
I figure that these are going to be my opening lifts in March 515 squat, 425 bench so handling them daily will either make it much easier or much harder come meet day.
Took 2 days off for a wake and funeral, stayed in a terrible hotel so my back feels like shit, today I figured the 2 days might help but they didn’t so…
Bench- bar x10, 135x8x8 225x5, 275x3, 350x2, 380x2, 405x1 (everything felt slow and heavy)
Do you think that since the meet is in March you might increase the squat number every day by 5-15 pounds and the same for the bench? That could be an easy progression for you to make and use for your openers. If you went up only 5 pounds for each lift ever couple or few weeks the opening(daily lift) could be a bit higher which may up your conditioning and increase the ease for lifting heavier weight.
I know nothing(Sergeant Shultz) and these suggestions are not supported by any degree or anything like that-just something like I am trying to do.
Thanks, it doesn’t feel like it’s drifting but everyone says it is.
GV,
That it sactually the plan (more or less) as things feel easy I will gradually raise the weights, not on any set schedule or plan just on a “feel” basis.

I apologize for not staying up to date but I have been really lazy lately.
I am competing Saturday April 26th in Ithaca, NY (because I paid my entry fee and my wife will yell at me if I don’t go) so I figured I should prepare a bit for it. With that in mind I did my “openers” today, I spent about 45 minutes at the gym warming up and hitting some unexpectedly challenging singles, so I would appreciate it if anyone will give me some feedback on set-up execution etc. I think my squat depth is 2-4 inches high, but I am not sure about anything else. I do know that I was gassed after squatting and I probably should have rested before deadlifting as well, my conditioning is best categorized as poor.
Thanks for the input. I will be trying to correct the squat issue (after the meet) but I am pretty sure I can drop a couple or four inches for the meet, still the Good Morning is probably not an efficient way to squat. Thanks again.
Thanks for the support, but if you saw my face on the 505 you would know that I was trying to not accidentally shit myself
Lately I have felt very lethargic and old, I had tried to ignore it but last week I had some tests run. The basic blood panel stuff, plus an overnight oximeter test for sleep apnea and the numbers were awesome. My test levels came back at…16!!! I would have expected that at that level I would at least have softer skin, and the sleep apnea test showed my blood oxygen levels as routinely dropping to 74% or so throughout the night. At first I was pissed off that my doctor had screwed me over two years ago (I had done this test in 2012 and he said I was fine but come to find out the numbers were about the same) but then I realized that while my lifting progress has been slow the past two years, I have still made SOME progress, once this shit is fixed up I should be able to make some steady and measurable progress.
Sometimes the good news about bad tests is that it explains things and gives you something tangible to fix. If you get the numbers corrected I bet you make some serious progress.
