So, I work for a software company and we design user interfaces for the hospitality industry (hotels, casinos, etc). Essentially what I do is create the actual UI that a guest interacts with on their TV (to buy VOD or room service, etc).
One of the things we always need to be able to demo during sales is a screen where a local business (restaurant in this case) can have their details (hours of operation, menus, description, images, etc).
For the longest time, our default demo-restaurant was named ‘Nosh’. A year and a half or so ago, we bought out a Euro company and a bunch of the UK people informed us that ‘Nosh’ is a slang word for some sort of sex act (not sure which job it’s slang for). Interesting thing is: Nobody fixed it, and I’m not fixing it until I have new assets to upload.
haha, nosh actually means food, but if you get “noshed off” then you’ve been lucky enough to receive a blowjob.
