Yet Another Reason to Hate China

Questionable banking practices, dangerously unregulated industries, abysmal human rights record, rampant famine, bad-to-worse environmental policies, and… they kick puppies!

“Hate” seems to be one important vocable here on TNation, especially with them patriots.
China must be integrated politically and treated with respect.
Slaughtering puppies is practically the same as butchering calves. (Which are holy animals in India)So what?
I bet we also have traits they find barbaric or repulsive.

I wonder how much tasty protein such a puppy haunch would have, does anybody know?

My dog’s like 12, not much meat on her. More on a chicken wing

I highly suspect that China’s economy will cause the next Great Depression. Their rapid expansion has fueled a worldwide economic boom, much like the roaring 20’s and the USA. Just like then, the world economy is quite dependent on one economy — imagine us without Chinese imports and exports!

Its going to be bad.

I don’t think Chinas coming recession will cause a Great Depression but I think their recession is coming far sooner than most people expect.

This IS a question which really bugs me. Will they continue to grow? Will the pseudo-communist regime make reforms? How will china’s society adapt?

Theres no indication for this. In recent years they even intentionally slowed the economic growth a bit. Compared to the western economies their endless supply of cheap labor, who are willing to work their guts out, is just like cheating.

Fact is they will surpass the us economy in about 20 years.

And we can only get down on our knees and thank Mao that he succeeded with the communistic revolution, otherwise their economic boom wouldve started some 50 years ealier, like in Japan, but with a 10 times bigger population.

Conspiracy theorists believe that communism was installed in Russia and China, intentionally, for the very reason you describe. I’ve often wondered about the validity of that.

If Henry Ford can fund the early Nazi party, who knows how communism got ITS start?

going back to the original post, China’s animal rights practices are pretty disgusting. I know different cultures treat various species with greater or lesser reverence, but I think a line has to be drawn on skinning dogs alive or kicking cages of cats/dogs off the back of trucks and spearing them with hooks.

Hopefully as China grows in status it will develop a little more sense of responsibility in this area.

China’s growth is good for the US and their adoption of IPv6 by 2008 is going to create a new tech boom.

Okay moron,

 1. Having killed dozens of rabid animals I can 100% verify that indescriminate beating is not the preferred method. Rabid animals are easily identified and the quickest death with the least amount of gore and handling is best. Vaccines may be a too expensive, but don’t tell me guns and bullets are.

 2. I pretty much thought, ‘I don’t really care how they treat dogs. Especially to fight rabies.’ Until I read that they were attacking dogs that people owned and making noise to find out which houses were hiding dogs. Even at this, I haven’t signed as I don’t believe our diplomats should be telling foreigners not to beat dogs, besides, there are much more important items on their agendas.

 3. Also, beating animals to death isn’t ‘practically the same as’ butchering them. Especially when one is done for food and the other is done for…

 4. And I know we have traits they find repulsive, Chinese-Americans tell me how barbaric I am every time I have a barbeque. I smile politely and ask them if they prefer their chickens with the heads on and then whether they’d prefer to eat it with their hands or a couple of sticks. We all have a good laugh and then sit down and eat some barbequed chicken (no head) with a knife and fork. And all the stories I’ve shared over meals like this no one talks about the puppy beatings growing up. You’d think such an ingrained part of their cultural heritage would be shared in such a jovial atmosphere.

 5. Yes, hate. Anyone clicking on the link looking at reasons to hate China has probably already made up their mind. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that for the vast majority, it’s not because they beat puppies. I hate the Chinese pseudo-government for a number of reasons. I also hate when people use words like vocable when referring to a typed post.

I also hate cheap fish oil pills that give me fish burps. Hate isn’t a swear word, especially when it comes to social and economic injustices. Or are you defending the inhumanitarian acts that China is known for?

Oh my, I really did not intend to hurt your vegan feelings. It just seems inappropriate to tell others to “hate” one billion people because some of them were beating dogs with clubs to death -apparently because no one gave them guns.
Also, to assume the majority hates china tells a lot about you.
Again, like in so many other threads, someone here can only think black or white.
“Do you hate China? Or do you intend to defend their inhuman atrocities we all see on FOX?”
Nah- I prefer blondes…

I told no one to hate, I invited those who do hate or even just disapprove to share in yet another disgusting aspect of the government and culture that is established over there, I’m still unclear as to why you posted.

I didn’t assume the majority hates China. And hatred isn’t required. The fact that you defend China in violating civil and animal rights in the beating of animals when cheaper, better, and more effective means exist tells a lot about you.

Am I wrong? Are you saying you aren’t defending China?

Yeah, FOX News or… The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, NBC, ABC, CBS, BBC, and CBC. Not to mention partisan hacks like the Dalai Lama, Taiwan, and the UN. I’d continue, but your stupidity is beyond words.

There are dark spots everywhere in life, but people usually only point out others shortcomings. And for a country whose leaders try to force their way of life on other countries, the US certainly have plenty of them.

Yes, but imagine their economy without their exports. If for instance an embargo was placed against their imports into just US and say Germany for example that alone would reduce their revenue a massive amount. In a similar way to the Japanese effected US and European manufacture (largely by copying Western ideas) I think China will spawn new firms which end up actually producing in the US and Europe. Which just like say the Toyota plants in the UK for example, helps the economy in the long run.
