How do you manage that? You eject and go through air the whole time and, since you’ve got a parachute, land softly in water.

How in Hell do you break three limbs along the way? Was he engaging enemy jets mano-a-wingo?

I wasn’t aware he was injured for 5 years. No, instead he chose to aid and abet the enemy with anti-USA broadcasts. Here is how he is looked at by his fellow vets.

http://www.usvetdsp.com/smith_mc.htm

He also tried to kill himself after they tortured him into submission because he believed he had dishonored his country and betrayed his men.

Look punk, I already said I am no fan of Mccain as president, but don’t you dare try to take from him the sacrifices he made for this country regardless of what you think of the war which probably doesn’t amount to much because you didn’t even know the guy was injured.

Did you also know that he awoke to an AK butt that broke his shoulder as well after which he was dragged? Have you had one broken bone? Can you even fathom the pain this man was in.

Did you know that when Hanoi found out who he was (do you even know that) they offered him early release, but he refused to leave because the code of conduct he upheld dictated that the men captured before him should be released first and he refused to be viewed as special because of his family?

Did you further know that to this day he is permanently disabled as a result of the torture he endured before breaking and accounts for his hunched posture?

You’re a faggoty little piss ant and a disgrace. It’s attitudes like yours that give our enemies heart.

Read the article. There is more truth to it than Obama being Muslim (which he is not). Or can only Republicans play Swift Boat?

According to Islamic law the son of a Muslim father is a Muslim. Obama’s father was a Muslim.

If McCain had not stacked the deck with McCain/Feingold, I’d think more of voting for him. Then again, it takes a real scoundrel to run Washington poltics effectively so being a scoundrel might be an asset.

And yes I would fly with a 72 year old pilot. He qualified didn’t he? He kept up his license didn’t he?

Seriously this is an ignorant post. We need to judge people based on their abilities and skills, not on some superficial number, or skin color, or sex.

Thread has been pwned.

Maybe I need to throw up one of today’s JihadWatch articles.

Give me the old guy.

Obama reminds me of a lot of people here: He’s been to the gym once, and is now a fucking expert on all training.

I was going to say something similar, but you beat me to it.

Thanks so much for that.

Would that be the article where even they mention how badly injured he was in the shootdown and how his shoulder was shattered and how brutally he was treated? The article you posted? You, who didn’t know he was injured? Or did you just now dig that up because you need something to support an ill conceived position? Fellow survivors of the Hilton who are in a position to know support his version of events.

Obama is not a Muslim nor is he a Christian by any historical definition. He is a Marxist. Liberation theology started in the 60’s in central America if I remember right and is nothing more than Marxism wrapped in Christian terminology. They’re fond of quoting from the book of the acts of the apostles where it’s said that they had all things in common and distributed to each as they had need. They forget to mention that this was in the private church, not the government.

Good points.

I thought air-air missiles detonated once they were close enough and let the shrapnel do the rest.

Most POW got no care at all. He’s the lucky one.

If one is lucky enough to have those kind they do. Some require impact. Remember this was the '60s in a third world country. Occasionally people throwing rocks get lucky too.

I don’t think the NVA gave him very good healtcare when they captured him…socialized medicine and all that.

It was a soviet made surface to air missile like were all over Hanoi’s air defense at the time. The North was not a third world military with pitchforks and slingshots. The NVA was a first rate well equipped, well trained, well disciplined and committed force. The Viet-Cong, while certainly not on par with the army regulars had the advantage of cultural camouflage and what they lacked in equipment and training they more than made up for in creative cunning and fanaticism.

Yes, I respect them. They schooled us on guerrilla warfare and demonstrated that will can overcome superior numbers and technology if that will is strong enough. They also taught us a monumental lesson in the fatal folly of underestimating your enemy. One I’m not convinced we’ve yet finished learning. That doesn’t mean I don’t think the war itself was just or that I wouldn’t have rather we won.

I’m gettin way off track.

I’ll be voting for Mccain for the same reason I voted for Bush twice. In a harrowing attempt to avoid the utterly unthinkable alternative.

speaking as a pilot … I definitely would rather fly with the crusty 72 year old than with the young guy. Especially knowing he was an ex-military pilot like McCain.

The 72 year old probably learned to fly in a taildragger … he probably learned to navigate with a compass and an ADF. The young guy spent a lot of time on a simulator and has been flying with GPS and modern avionics.

It’s a slam dunk actually.

I always get on airliners and take a look in the cockpit going buy and feel good if the dude in the left seat has gray hair.
i agree. just cause he’s had a lot of birthdays, doesnt mean he lost his touch. besides if he develops dementia, he’ll still be a pilot cause of all those years as one. then again if he goes back to his war days, it could be an interesting flight for the passengers…but seriously, i’d rather have grampa who knows what he’s doing instead of some young guy who just graduated from flight school and is there cause he thought the career sounded cool, get to go places and that it pays awesome. gramps dont care about money, and travel, he’s been there done that and can land that plane while taking a nap.

obviously you’ve never tried this before. jumping from a plane willingly, then landing can be hard and if you land wrong, your legs (or wherever you land on) will snap like a twig. so i cant imagine ejecting from a fighter jet while its about to go down, plus doing it in enemy territory. oh and trust me, water is not a soft landing. ever dive into a pool incorrectly? if you have, it hurts doesnt it? imagine doing that from way up in the sky, even in a parachute.

good one! He became senator of illinois only cause the guy who would have won dropped out cause of a sex club scandal, Obama wins basically unopposed and all of a sudden is our fucking messiah

here are the facts of Obama:

he Obama Tidal Wave

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude.

His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of 'Change' or that he says he will be a 'Uniter'.

The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma. Both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions.

; On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler, too, inspired millions and the results were catastrophic.

& nbsp; Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans riding on the Obama Tidal Wave it is just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, but the reality of the ride is what happens when it hits shore.

Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama:

He voted for partial birth abortion.
He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.
Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government (quotas)..
&n bsp; In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being too severe.
Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.
Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and in college.
His religious convictions are very murky.
He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations. Why?
       Opposed the Patriot Act.
First bill he signed that was ever passed was campaign finance reform.
Voted to allow law suits against gun manufacturers.
       Supports universal health-care.
&nbs p; Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.
Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.
Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.
Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
Wants to make the minimum wage a 'living wage'.
Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes. (241 votes Demo, 10 votes Republican)
Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.
Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports
increasing the amount of tax paid into Soc. Sec. Tax Increase.
He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax which now hits middle income brackets. Tax Increase.
He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. T ax Increase.
He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. Tax Increase.
Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded...which is not true.
He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Sen ate today and that takes some doing.

And what on that list is bad seriously?

I heard the new and inexperienced pilot wants me to pay more for my ticket then the other passengers because I earn more. He wants me to pay for 9 other passengers who made poor business and personal choices. Also wants me to pay his friend Al Gore to reduce the carbon footprint of my flight. That doesn’t seem fair?
Perhaps the part with the tax increases, granting driver’s licenses/social security/welfare to illegal immigrants (What’s the point of coming over legally then?..), wanting people whom earn minimum wage to be able to live in comfort off of it (The point of minimum wage is exactly that, MINIMUM. A.k.a. lowest, stripped down)
Though, I think that pretty much the entire is list is “bad”, seriously.
