I’m serious about wanting to hear why gym owners/managers feel the need to cram equipment everywhere. Are there ANY of you out there who read T-Nation? Please reply.
(If there aren’t any gym owners/managers who read the Nation then that explains a lot)
Wonder if I should start a new thread on this? …Looking for explanations from gym owners as to why they do the things they do?
Second. Good idea.
While we’re giving the owners the third degree, they must be held accountable for the music.
I recently switched gyms and found out the answer to the question, “What could be worse than working out to Ashlee Simpson?”
Answer: working out to house music.
God bless the USA for educating the men and women who invented the iPod.

Personally i quite like working out to Britney Spears or even better Justin Timberlake. Gives me the motivation to smash everything and everyone in the face while i slap my own face with a 45lb plate!

I used the squat rack for curls tonite. I know this is a crime against T-Men everywhere, but I really don’t think anyone at my “health club” type gym knows what the squat rack is. Is it still bad?

Though I secretly hate this misuse of “The Cage”, as I solemnly refer to the squat cage, I figure since I am only one of 5% of my gym who know what it actually is for (and use it for that purpose) it’s okay. Besides, the ez-curl bars only go up to 110lbs so I sometimes like to do cheat curls in the cage with the oly bar. Yeah, I know I’m buff.
The difference between me and the 16 yr old who spends 50% of his workout in “The Cage” is that I will ask others if they are waiting for “The Cage” if I see them looking impatiently at me. Usually, the look on their face is to show their concern for my “bad form” while curling in this matter. I rarely curl so I figure what the hay?
Wrist curls? holy-jeebus! what next?
