You guys who dont enjoy it really need to get on the level that we are doing this to prove who is the best country in the world. Its world war but with slightly less killing involved. I dont know how you dont get psyched up by the clash of civilizations.
Spoiled rich white people, africans from africa, axis of evil oppressed peoples, all kicking around what used to be a sheeps bladder for global supremacy.
See, us Americans need to pretend after its al over we dont go back to being the worlds superpower to get into it and take it personally. In 20 years when we are a fallen Empire and have had some humiliating military defeats (hello most of Europe) I bet we take it more seriously.

I can never take a sport seriously when the players fake injury. Give me a sport where they pretend that it DIDN’T hurt.

How I felt about USA vs Canada in hockey too.

That said, 2-1 USA in overtime.
See, thats because we have rule of law in america. Alls fair in war, and bending the rules to your advantage is a virtue in many places. Like in latin america, it is more your fault for getting scammed than it is the scammers fault, who can blame him for taking you for a ride if you are so gullible? Ask maradona.
I can’t wait this match up is going to be exciting. And how can some people say soccer is boring? I also love football, basketball, baseball, hockey… I guess I see the beauty in every sport and enjoy it. I even watch golfing from time to time

Because it is.
Can be boring at times, but no where near as boring as baseball. Watching a baseball game is a painfull experience.
Watching sports in general is pretty boring, but soccer is the king of boredom.

For those saying how boring FOOTBALL is. I’m not going to lie, it can be boring at times BUT then again footy is a way of life. There are things that only people who are really into the sport know: Players and teams that have history of hating each other, when one of the best players in the world is about to play one of the best defenders in the world e.t.c. point is that it isn’t about the score ALL the time but other shit involved in the game.

Are you kidding? Granted soccer can be fucking crazy at times and be very awesome to watch but I just watched a little of Argentina v. Nigeria today. This is how it went for about 20 minutes: defense passes to midfielders, midfielders pass forwards, forwards pass back to defenders, and repeat cycle.
I swear to god there should be an icing sort of rule like there is in hockey, so they can actually play soccer in the midfield.

Every World Cup, I say to myself “OK, I’m in the minority here. The overwhelming majority of the world LOVES this game, so I’m going to give it another chance”.
And every World Cup, I reaffirm my position that soccer is significantly less exciting than watching two drunken Siberian Eskimos in a kayak race on Lake Baikal. Probably anywhere from 65-85% less exciting.
I just don’t get it. But in all fairness, much of the world thinks Ice Hockey is retarded too. I suppose what you’re raised with has a big influence.
Enjoy the tournament!
Agree with you. I gave it a chance by watching France v. Uruguay, how freaking boring. I’ll still watch tomorrow’s match-up though.
Hard to believe not only are the people that find soccer boring theres people out there that dont like test match cricket!!
Im picking a draw, and for this to be another fantastic month of international soccer.

This just in: other sports involve those things too, along with excitement from the actual game. Not that every sport doesn’t have their France/Uruguay matches, but I’ll be damned if it doesn’t seem like they are more common in soccer. Who watched Argentina/Nigeria this morning? Literally NOTHING happened in the last 10 minutes, Argentina played keep away and nobody got a shot on goal in a 1-0 game… there is no other sport where a game that could potentially be tied at any fucking moment would end so passively.
