World Cup 2010 Thread

GTFO. The horrid officiating against US in their most recent game was agreed upon by pretty much every commentator/expert in the world. FIFA initiated their own investigation after the game, not because of a US protest as you have claimed. Your ignorance is only further highlighted by every post you make.

As for the US being whiny bitches, I guarantee that whatever country you live in has benefited greatly from the US, and would stand zero chance matching our economy, military, or quality of life.

And if you think this World Cup has been boring, don’t watch it and don’t comment on it. There has been plenty of entertainment, plenty of upsets, and we aren’t even out of the group stage. I apologize if that’s hard to see for a puerile degenerate such as yourself.

I don’t think it’s been boring AT ALL. What the fuck? What would “exciting” be? And don’t you fucking dare quote me some great plays from “golden era” soccer where you probably weren’t even born yet. Nostalgia is an artificial sweetener.

As for USA fans being whiney, come on. Commentators from other countries agreeing the call was ludicrous makes USA fans “whiney” ?

Whiney is when a call could have gone either way and two sides argue about it. This call was just blatant bullshit and FIFA’s review of the ref is further proof that soccer crazed cultures agree with American outrage.

Stop being a cunt.

I applaud this post, I’d like to have a beer with you (no ghey).

Ponce can come to.

As for the world cup, I’m looking forward to watching Brazil and Italy (especially Italy) in T-minus 6 hrs.

Down, I’ll be in Chi-Town for Lollapalooza.

Nice result for New Zealand, in all reality they should have won it if Wood’s strike was only inches over. The upsets thus far have been great, and I only hope there are more to come.

Brazil vs Ivory Coast should be an awesome display of World Cup football, and I am very much looking forward to that match to close out today’s action.

Brazilian players are serially complacent - I warn you.

They drive me up the wall with their low standards; Knowing they win by 5 and yet are happy to sail through with 2 goals.

I find this also very selfish because they could truly give us what you rightfully said, and I could have not put better: “an awesome display of world cup football…”. But I fear that their self satisfaction will denies us of their brilliance and dignified playing ( notice how they are friendlier when falling and fouling with their opponents.)

The Brazilian press is all over them like the English press is disappointed with their team. Brazilians expected at least 4 goals on that North Korean game ( C’mon, North Korea? WTHell…Brazil should have had a party in their net.) and Brazil did not deliver.

The British press thinks the Brazilian press is being too harsh but I agree with the Brazilian people that the way Brazil plays is too laid back and they should think about the fans of football all over the world, and how we wait 4 damn years for this for them to come here and just be self satisfied with qualifying.

WHERE IS THE STANDARD?!?

When you have the potential for excellence why settle for average?

That is my frustration and lack of faith in Brazil as a team.

Too many people look at the final result and judge the quality of the team from that.

The passing and the way brazil broke the north korean team to pieces was of a very high quality. They played like Man utd on a very good day. The only reason they won 2-1 is because north korea played very well themselves and fought as hard as they could.

If brazil played a team like england / algeria / france then yes, they would of had a party in the back of their net.

Most of the teams so far have been playing very well and they are surpassing what is expected of them.

They did score the best goal of the tournament, in my opinion.
It is precisely because we see such displays that the nationals get greedy and want more outstanding goal scoring.

The English commentators were discussing if the goal was intentional and could not decide.
They just settled by saying:

“Then again, he is Brazilian.”

It is expected of them to produce magic because they can.

I am not disagreeing with you, just expanding on where Brazilian nationals are coming from in their expectations of their team.

Brazil is a dominant team, and although they may get complacent or play down to the level of their competition in some matches, their level of skill, experience, and brilliance is of the highest level.

I will watch every World Cup match that I can, and will view it through a positive lens, choosing to see brilliance and patriotism combine in a spectacular South African setting. Brazil vs Ivory Coast should be a thrill to watch.

WTF Italy, WTF!

Helllooooo!!!

Brilliant angle, great technique, great goal.

The tackles from Brazil have been absolutely top notch, I have to say.

It makes the game look beautiful.

Also, only team to repeatedly steal the ball from the opponent without those ugly, grotesque fouls where players bear hug, elbow, and knee the opponent into an injury.

Kaka is playing poo poo.

Maybe they should replace him for someone fresh.

1x0, great skills but the passion is missing for me.

Some of those Ivory Coast guys have some beautiful asses.

Magnificent!

What a goal!

Yeah baby!

3x0 of quality play!!

I am not complaining.

Next time you might want to withhold your warnings, Brazil has simply dominated this game and provided plenty of entertainment.

Ivory Coast have realized they can’t win and have decided to kick Brazil up and down the field.

The Ivory Coast is scum.

How shameful.

Worst red card given ever.

That Keita is a little diving bitch. Should be suspended for a game.

WHAT A FUCKING MORON REFEREE!! HOLY SHIT!!

why dont they look at the fucking INSTANT REPLAY WHICH IS ON A MASSIVE SCREEN ABOVE EACH END OF THE GOAL!

Stupid fucking bullshit.

Because common sense is lacking in the world.
