Dunno why big Edu had his goal chopped off. Nothing up with it at all.

Good comeback by the yankee doodles.

Brilliant game and the sad thing is that most yanks don’t give a flying fuck :frowning:

i agree, but you’re not really helping your case by calling it “footy.” that sounds silly.

Trust me, with a broad northern (england) accent, it sounds right at home. I can see why it would sound silly to your lot but then again, you’re the nation that call it soccer!

USA won that game 3 - 2. I have no clue what the ref saw.

damn it!!! it should have been 3-2!! but the U.S didn’t deserve to win… so we’ll be fucking ready the next match!!

so the best thing for the u.s is a england loss or a tie right???

I don’t think it matters. USA needs to beat Algeria, and England needs to beat Slovenia.

England/Slovenia could draw and we’d still be in if we beat Algeria by 2+(to beat Slovenia in goal differential).

Good luck, americans!

That referee blew the call and blew the game for the USA. It’s unfortunate that it had to come down to that, but in all reality, if the USA had shown up for the first half of the match, it wouldn’t have mattered.

All the USA needs to do now is win against Algeria by a large margin, and hope that the rest of the teams in the group don’t score a ton of goals.

I also hope that the US Military launches an offensive again the country of Mali, as retaliatory actions for referees call against the USA.

Holy frickin upsets. All we need is England to lose and the world would have fully turned on its head.

FIFA (and Adidas) seriously needs a better product development cycle for their balls. Most of the players have barely had enough time to practice with it and get used to its behaviour. It’s so frustrating to see a nice build-up play coming to an end because the end cross just sails over everyone’s heads, or an otherwise solid shot on goal just keep rising into row Z. At least now teams are getting more desperate for results and the goals have started to pour in.

USA was totally robbed - should have been 3-2 for sure.

Maybe I’m drunk (and I am), but that was a great match! A tie for the US = WIN!

Is anyone else surprised by the outcome of the cup thus far?

BTW alpha where you from?
Brazilian born and grew up on a diet of the best years of Brazilian football in the 70’s and early 80’s.

After 82 and Zico, Brazil’s performance went downhill and I kept hopeful but stopped putting my energy in cheering for them - they were so so complacent. Creating opportunities but failing to score, not producing that magic that football can be when the players are inspired and spirited…I don’t know, maybe there is too much money in the game now and the pleasure of playing just for the joy of lighting up the crowd and getting us to roar seems to be gone .

Moved to England age 18 and been here for 21 years and never looked back.

Now England provides me the same frustration as cheering for Brazil; something is missing that the team fails to live up to its potential.

So, if there is a Brazil x England final it’s a win win for me.

But wouldn’t it be great, with all the surprises so far, if the final were England x USA?

COME ON ENGLAND!

The beer is in the fridge ready for the match!

Definitely some scores I didn’t see coming, that’s for sure.

Agreed.
Yes. It is very hard to predict with the referees being blinded by the swarm of bees.
