Germany looked good because Australia let them play. Against Italy/Argentina/brazil it’ll be like a bird into a window. Strawberry jam.

Are you saying you would rather not see the Brazilian women on bikinis dancing to the samba?
Just saying.

I think we can all agree that Brazilian women are a vital aspect of the World Cup.
Yes WE are!
:)

I hope you are right.
I want to see sweat and blood.
…and tears from that little cheating shemale, Ronaldo.
Remember his little pussy wink after what he did to Rooney in the last world cup?
I hope he gets tripped over and over and over again.
Those horns are fucking annoying. I hope they get banned immediately. Couldn’t even hear the crowd in the corners when Germany were doing corner kicks. Plus I fell asleep during the Ghana game and I had a nightmare about bees.
goooo Germany!

Exactly my point.

I agree, I prefer the chants and singing to the constant buzz. If they were more horn like that would be one thing, but it simply sounds like there’s a giant swarm of flys at every World Cup game.
Haha got to love this…

Couldn’t agree more!! The chants are what makes the cup so spectacular! The Argentinian hinchada, the Brazilian samba, the Brits and their “we-will-score-one-more-ENGLAND!” You can’t beat that. Damn those stupid trumpets. grumble grumble
them horns sound like bee’s buzzing constantly…its highly annoying.

I remember an English chant when Seaman was the keeper. When he made a good save, people would start chanting, “we got lots-a Sea-MAN! We got lots-a SeaMAN!”
Who ate all the pies…

Also, Germany is just terrifying compared to the otherwise tepid opening of this shindig. If all the rest of us continue playing like we have Down’s than Germany is just going to snatch the entire thing with no trouble.
Germany is playing good BUT come on, the World Cup just started. Holland, Brazil, Portugal and Spain haven’t played yet.
I would omit Portugal from your list. They will find a way to fuck up.
A guy from work literally said “I havent seen a worser beating from Germany since I saw Schindler list.” Well put.

Spain too. They are the other England. They always figure out a way to lose.

I’m not saying those teams will win the WC. Well Spain is my favorite and from their performance in the Euro Cup I don’t see how it can’t happen. Portugal won’t win the world cup but they are still one of the big teams in Europe.

They are not a big team in Europe. They have never won a European Championship or a World Cup. To qualify as a big team you have to have won something at some point and Portugal have been losers time and time again. In fact, they have only qualified for the World Cup four times prior to this one. The U.S. have played in two more Worlds Cups than Portugal.
Portugal: Lots of talent, no results.

Do you realize that U.S plays for one of if not the shittiest Confederation in the world? Put them in CONMEBOL or in a qualifying group in Europe and see how they do.
Portugal has loads of talent on their team. On a good day they can beat any of the big teams in Europe(England, France, Italy, Germany, Holland).

Yes I do realize that the U.S. plays in a much easier region to qualify from and my point was not that the U.S. is better than Portugal. It was just to point out how absolutely shite the Portuguese have been at even getting into the tournament compared to a team like the U.S. with such a meager WC history. By the way, I was wrong, the U.S. is playing in its 8th WC this year, 3 more than Portugal. Also, the last time the U.S. and Portugal met in the WC it didnt’ turn out too well for Portugal did it?
The actual BIG teams in Europe manage to qualify for the WC much more often than Portugal and they actually manage to win once in a while. Let’s take a look at the numbers:
Italy - 16 World Cups, 4 titles, 1 Euro titles.
Germany - 17 World Cups, 3 titles, 3 Euro titles.
France - 13 World Cups, 1 title, 2 Euro titles.
England - 13 World Cups, 1 title, 0 Euro titles
Spain - 12 World Cups, 0 titles, 2 Euro titles
Netherlands - 8 World CUps, 0 titles, 1 Euro title - I almost don’t want to put the Dutch in this group but at leat they’ve won a European title.
Portugal - 4 World Cups, 0 titles, 0 Euro titles - Wow! fantastic results!
To be a big team in Europe you have to actually qualify for the WC more often than not and you have to have actually won a major title. Has Portugal done either of these things?
As you and I both stated, Portugal has a lot of talent. But they have not been a very good team. Their lack of results or even the ability to get into the tournaments prove my point.
If Portugal is a big team in Europe, then so is Denmark.
Australia played poorly but that red card against Cahill was over the top
