Wisey's Training Log - StrongEveryDay

My doctor is ok. I like her.

Felt fine the Next day after I saw her…took blood etc, and I never got a call suggesting I go to ED so that’s a good sign. She has booked me in to follow the results though, hopefully nothing particularly worrying…lol

Good quick push/pull session.
Funny moment, a neighbor walked on by and stopped for a chat. He “trains”.
Anyway, asked me why I wasn’t using Straps to hold the db’s for the rows…wasn’t sure how to answer that. So just said “dunno…don’t need them I guess”.

How else does a grip get stronger if you don’t fkn use it bruh?

Haha. He’s a nice guy, but he doesn’t know how to train. Main thing I guess is he’s exercising. Not common anymore I feel.

Bench felt awesome. Strong. Video later.

No signs of any lung issues…no feinting feelings. Guess I’ll carry on.

Fun. Tough. Actually got all 6 half sets completed in the same amount of time that it took me to do 5 last time. Felt it too haha. This took a while still this session, so ran short on time for anything else.

This morning I woke early to get some more work in. Gawd I hate mornings lol.

Horrible experience. Just horrible. :joy:.
Spent the next 30 minutes that I had left walking the doggo. Feel better for that.
I’d hope to also squat and Press this morning but was pretty tight all over from climbing all over a roof before benching yesterday haha. Probably should have walked first this morning. Doesn’t matter, got some work in.

Today I’ve got the first of a few end of year schmoozy lunches. I have declined a couple of invitations because it just won’t work with training and working at the moment. I was close to declining today’s event, but they are great guys and our of the 170million bucks of construction work we’ve completed at this company, they’ve built 130 million of it :joy:. So I should show up.

2hrs and 20 on a train to make it happen…and the same coming home later this arvo. Or I might just drive yet, as writing that train ride out on paper makes it sound even worse :joy:. Driving would cut 30-40 minutes heading up…and maybe 50 heading home - but less bourbons. Hahahaha. Though it would open up a potential opportunity to train again tonight.

Decisions! Love Summer!

Crazy Humidity this afternoon/evening. Very difficult training in it…Good.
On the plus side, warming up for everything was a dream. Cooling down on the other hand…not so easy. Jumped in the pool…but it was also a balmy 30 degrees Celsius (86f).

Day one of the heat wave… apparently to hit 41 on Saturday (105.8f). Should be fun training in that.

Good.

Sounds like a good way to catch up on sleep haha.
I’d always get the train back to Melb if 1) didn’t have to get off at Dandenong and get the bus then 2) didn’t have to drive around while I was there.

Yeah I struggle to sleep on public transport lol. Always have.

I despise Sydney Trains enough to just suck it up and drive. Haha.

105x10 - 231.5lbs not bad for a light day. Rpe 8. So maybe a little harder than I need, but I’m expecting it to get easier as time progresses. This is a new load on this day, so it’s pretty good. Got my pec pump on and got out in the backyard and into the pool with the fam for what was probably 1.5 hours. Great day for it.

I get to take a country train so it’s surprisingly comfy and normally pretty empty. If I get the right one there’s even a snack cart haha.

Now that’s the kind of commute I can get behind haha. Where you coming from to get on a country train?

Had an exercise stress test this morning.
You can look up the “Bruce Protocol” to understand what I had to do. Wasn’t hard.

Passed that with flying colours, way better than the average. Cardiology guy was perplexed, as he was expecting SOMETHING to show up…but also, heart still strong as fuck and lungs in good nick.

Tell you what, my calves, hip flexors, glutes and tibialis were all burning by the end more than my lungs lol. Had to push on way past the standard level to get my heart rate up to the 150BPM mark he wanted. He was laughing there at one point…a good thing for my heart, but it wasn’t fun by the end hahaha.

Chest x-ray also clear. Thinking now my issues last week probably stem from the Horrendous Flu I had what 6-7 weeks ago…and just simply not as fit as I was pre-flu. Feel like just a couple of weeks of harder/more frequent cardio will sort it out entirely. Or, I could probably do nothing extra and it will adjust itself over time anyway…main thing is, no heart/lung issues.

Training a little later today. But soon.

I’m far enough from Melbourne that the radius hits parts of TAS haha
Train line basically follows the Princes Fwy (red line that runs through Traralgon on the map).

Hot as hell today… Worse in the garage, so didn’t do a tonne.

kB swings today as I was pretty exhausted from the heat.

Then jumped in the pool… Which to be honest, wasn’t much cooler…

Heat wave is here. Expecting 42 degrees tomorrow…37 by 9am. Ick. Training in the AM. Not keen.

Nothing more today. Far too humid to continue sensibly.

Good.

Humidity still quite silly…

Pretty tired/fatigued today after seeing Foo Fighters last night! The event was held at Sydney Olympic Park…which is shit in that it’s so Huge…so many people…and everything is a huge walking distance apart.

Great show though. Hadn’t seen them previously…so that’s a bucket list item ticked.

Hit up a tonne of swimming with the fam, got the yard work done…and finished the day with what is basically a minimum effort with the weights.

Still can’t post multiple videos to IG, and haven’t been able to sine November 8…and they aren’t answering my report of an issue. Lol.

Yeah yesterday was almost a complete write up. Huge day on site that followed probably the worst nights sleep in a motel I’ve ever had :joy:.

Was hotter than Texas, all night. The job site I was visiting is in area out West with a climate similar to that of Las Vegas’ surrounds…and my AC was less than up to the task!

I woke early also…and did make the small walk over to the local gym. But no weights were lifted. Instead I got some cardio in on a stationary bike while I drank two electrolyte drinks for 40 minutes.

Then off to work.

By the time I got back home after the flight I was Wrecked. Did go for a swim though…and my phone says I registered 16000 steps, so a very active day none the less.

Good.

Today is about the same in terms of actual free time. I’ve been up since 6am working through tender documents submitted by a group of builders for another job I have going, this time down in the north of Victoria. Digging through, this is going to take me the rest of the week to review and respond to the builders with what is looking like a very extensive list of clarifications lol.

Also to fit into today is my work Xmas Party…which is at a rather fancy restaurant within a Pub, about 90 minutes drive from here…and I am driving, as I want to train tonight. Tomorrow is 9 hours in my car return trip to yer another job site for a quick look over the progress of that one. Not my job…but it’s been a big team effort this one, so will be good to see the building in person.

That will round out my year for travelling thank Fark! Does sitting in a car all day count as training? :joy:

Out.
