I mean, “Tabata kB front squats is nothing”.

Wrong.

Used a 20kg KB. Why? So heavy…haha.

So anyway, I had a go. And it fucking wrecked me.

I kept the Bell going for the first 3 sets. Got 4 reps into the 4th set and the burn was CRAZY. So I quickly put it down and continued with air squats.

Set 8 I picked it back up, got 3 reps then threw it down and pumped out another 7 air squats.

I’ve never felt anything quite like the feeling I have in my Vastus Medialis.

First front Tabata attempt in the bag. Goal? Do better with the 20kg KB.

Funny story? My left knee was pretty achey before hand.

Feels great and normal after. Movement is medicine.

Yep @T3hPwnisher training and writing is a little infectious especially for those of us who already have a mental illness by years of rust infection from iron.

Comfortable Progression here again. Could have gotten 9 or 10 reps on that first set. Second set was Hard…then third set came good again and probably had 7 in it. No need to go HAM, thats next week.

Another 2 reps total today on these. Was not expecting it after last night. Good. Still chasing those 25+ reps, but i think deadlifts robs me a bit. That’s ok, its getting better, and that’s the main thing.

Literally nothing left of my quads or glutes. Who needs em.

Then jumped in the pool for 45 minutes…@19.5C
Coldest yet. Felt amazing. Have also started walking into the shower and just turning it on while standing under it. Thats a great punch in the face! But feels so good after the initial punishment.

Expecting the pool to get down to about 10C over the winter. Cant wait. :wink:

Thanks to @T3hPwnisher I just did my second Tabata front squat workout attempt. I sat attempt, because I want all 8 rounds to be with the 20kg KB.

Today I got full full rounds. An improvement immediately. Felt it easier this time for sure, but not Easy…

Smoked. But not as smoked as two days ago. Like I’d say I recovered more than twice as fast…which is crazy considering I did more work also. That rate won’t hold. Lol.

That’s it man. interestingly, that’s three days running i’ve used a squat movement in training. If anything, the movement felt the best today. Sure it sucked getting it all working, needed some leg extensions and curls to make that happen, but once i was into that first round, they felt Perfect. Every bit of tightness gone at that point, and just the job ahead remains.

Honestly I’m sick of not being as fit as I once was a decade ago. Something needs to be done. So I’m doing it.

That is it mate that is what makes me train “Trying not to be fat dad”. You keep this up ad you will be a machine. You have a massive base of strength training from years of gym work and are already strong as. Now to just increase the horse power a little.

Nothing cray-z. Still weak as shit. Not really sure I could have squatted any more than this. Happy enough for now consider 120 was a mission not all that long ago.
Still a far cry from 200kg. Lots of work to do this year.

Felt like something a little different.

The comp I was signed up for in June has just been cancelled due to the Gym closing! :frowning:
Is a mates gym, so a little sad.

In any case, next block won’t be strength focussed anymore I don’t think. I wasn’t going to cut any fat until after the comp…but I might start after me trip away next week instead.
The cool part is I’ve been maintaining my bodyweight at 108.2kg for nearly 4 weeks, on 3289 Cal’s average per day!
So I’ll just be starting at like 3100 for a couple weeks and keep working on that conditioning a few more days per week, and dropping the weights sessions back to 5 per fortnight.
Kinda happy about this. Lol.

Aiight.

109.1kg this morning. 26.1% BF from the digital scale. It’s probably pretty close to be fair. About 81kg LBM. Which is about right, definitely got bigger in the upper body this last few months…legs improved a bit, but still smaller than a few years ago at my best. Will continue rebuilding those properly after I’ve cut a heap of lard.

The good old days…when I was able to carry 105kg

3000 calories today. Training upper body tonight with a mate. Also got an easy swim session coming up later this morning with some burpees before it.

Gotta get this extra fluff off. So keep me accountable people! Training and working from home allows for way too much complacency if I’m being honest. Mostly re diet. Lol.

On we go.

Feel you on that! I bought a huge bag of trail mix from Costco a while back, everytime I walk into the kitchen my hand seems to auto fill lol
