90x5
100x3
110x2 - 242.5lbs

Chins:

107x2

112x5
117x3
123x2 - 271lbs a cheeky PB here.

Farmers walk: each hand.

40kg x 75m x 2.

Notes:

  • Front Squats were ON. Even 100kg wasn’t much.
  • Press felt better again. No need to get silly, just stay conservative, it’s working.
  • RDL REALLY easy. Doesn’t matter. Get the stretch. Get out. Plenty of time of heavier sets later.
  • Chins were fine too. Felt significantly stronger than they did yesterday. A PB Maybe. Maybe not. I couldn’t find anything heavier in my log, though admittedly I didn’t spend long looking. Just put an KG on because 123 is heavier than 122. :person_shrugging:

Not bad.

20x5
70x1

75x5

Chins:

106.5x2

112x5
112x5 - 246.9lbs

Sandbag pick and static hold;

55kg x 43seconds.

Notes:

  • Hot as hell here today. Weatherman says 30C, he’s wrong. If it’s not above 35-36c I’ll eat my hat.
  • Front were GREAT. Absolute moment here. Felt silky from the empty bar. Frost set was so simple, I took a 10kg jump and it didn’t feel much harder. Have conditioned myself to the position now, and my joints are doing great.
  • Press was still the same. A little bit iffy. I don’t know why. But it is what it. I might drop the second warmup back down to 2-3 reps and just see. Might need a single with the days weights to begin.
  • RDL felt like it was empty. Just ensured a good stretch every rep.
  • Most Importantly, still so pains. I call that 100% now. Shackles due to come back off. But I’ll stay conservative as it’s working just fine.
  • Chose a static hold today in lieu of walking in that sun/heat with loads.
  • Also, fasted up to this session, which began at 315pm. Probably just wait until dinner now and FEAST. Really don’t feel any hunger, and even less so after training. Playing around with meals and fasting and training and whatever and I really think I feel a lot better training fasted…I don’t feel inherently Bad eating prior…but I just feel better. Might be different if I was doing a more demanding higher volume BB bullshit thing, but yeah, I’m good this way.

Pretty Good.

Time for a swim.

Notes on session:

  • Front squat were super good again. Nice groove now. Easy to warmup, no joint complaints.
  • Press was better today. Not sure if because I altered the warmup, or because they are usually better two days in the a row. Time will tell.
  • RDL still feeling weightless.
  • Chins very Powerful today…easily getting chest all the way to the top of the ROM now even with the heavier weights. The warmups at bodyweight starting to feel VERY light.
  • Side bends, a good way to finish in this heat.

Great run here. Fin.

111x5

Farmers Walk: Weight each hand.

60kg x 15m
60kg x 15m
60kg x 15m
60kg x 15m

Notes:

  • Squats were ok. Not amazing today, trouble with the position on left wrist. But as i’ve mentioned previously, never great the day after a rest day for whatever reason. Might make these post rest day sessions just lighter permantly regardless of feel. That first set felt like air, so went up again to 85kg. But wasnt at all nice in the position.
  • Press was good though, best day i’ve had this cycle.
  • RDL’s again very simple, very stretchy very “do them and move on”.
  • Chins were fire. The warmup double felt like air so took a big jump today. Got it no problem, though it was a little closer to failure than i think is ideal, so took 5kg off for the second set of 5. Smart.
  • Enjoyed the carries today. Not heavy in the hands…but heavy while Moving with it. Heaviest of the cycle. But it felt good enough to get a few sets in.
  • Still didnt feel particulary Worked afterwards. Good. 6 singles tomorrow. Will be good to get some exposure to something a bit heavier. All the “easy” sessions after that 6x1 in week 2 felt much easier for several days after. Might see some tasty numbers soon.

Looking forward to this.

Sometimes when I lock a heavy press, I hold it there for a 5 to 10 count. Partly to display dominance, but also because it does indeed overload your stuff.

Are we sure it’s partially and not mostly?

122.5x1
122.5x1
127.5x1
132.5x1
132.5x1

Side plank:

35 seconds each side.

Notes:

  • Front Squats were O.K. Better than yesterday. Position is tricky at the heavier loads but it is improving. Got it slightly wrong on the 102.5kg single and nearly choked myself out. Certainly not a fantasy of mine.
  • Press felt great again. Elbow was maybe a little dicky on a couple of heavier singles. Maybe. Could have been psychological, too. It wasn’t there on the final two singles. Probably the most solid 70kg single I’ve ever done, not even a Hint of technical sway/breakdown. Solid to the end. Added 5 second static holds at the top of every rep. @Cyrrex they felt good! Will keep them for dominance reasons.
  • RDL’s were stretchy. Not at all difficult. Very good weight selections here I think. Tickle the heavier loads, but don’t rush into them.
  • Chinups just felt good today also. Could have gone heavier. Definitely good enough.
  • Planks were the easy way out. It was late for me…had to work right through until dinner with the fan. Took the dogs out for the post meal walk, used that as a partial warmup for training. CBF’d Setting up anything else interesting. Thinking more static sand bag holds tomorrow, then in a few days I’ll pick and carry it again to see if it’s had an effect.

Great.

Eh, not sure how dominant a display it is there in your empty garage.

I keep the door open in full view of the weaklings in my street.

Think I worry them enough when deadlifting. Every house about 3 neighbors in each direction knows when that is happening.

Day 18 EES

Front Squat:

20x5
20x1
70x1

70x5
70x5

Press:

20x5
40x3
50x1

50x5
50x5

RDL:

50x5

90x5
90x5

Chins:

107x2

107x2
107x2
107x2
107x2
107x2

Side Bends:

30x20 each side.
30x12 each side.
No rest.

Then did some band stuff, face pulls and what not.

Notes:

  • Squats were fine. I was a little sore from last two days. Pushed a little too much. Today was the “tonic” day, but ive swapped the 1x10 for another 2x5 with a cap on it. No one likes front squats with more than 3 reps, let alone 10.
  • Press was TIGHT. No fatigue at all that i could feel. Doesnt mean it isnt there.
  • Stretchy RDL’s.
  • Just doubles for chins to keep intensity lower.
  • Those side bends reall hit different after planks yesterday LOL.

Carry on.
