Leesburg, VA (AHN) - Nationally syndicated conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh has been nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize by Landmark Legal Foundation-the leading conservative public interest law firm in the country.
According to Landmark President Mark R. Levin, the firm decided to nominate Limbaugh, who also serves as a member of Landmark’s Board of Advisors, for his “nearly two decades of tireless efforts to promote liberty, equality and opportunity for all humankind, regardless of race, creed, economic stratum or national origin. These are the only real cornerstones of just and lasting peace throughout the world.”
Rush Limbaugh, whose daily radio show is heard by more than 20 million people on more than 600 radio stations in the United States and around the world, spurred Levin to nominate the conservative icon for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Levin writes, "Rush Limbaugh is the foremost advocate for freedom and democracy in the world today.
Everyday he gives voice to the values of democratic governance, individual opportunity and the just, equal application of the rule of law - and it is fitting that the Nobel Committee recognize the power of these ideals to build a truly peaceful world for future generations."
If he wins this award it kills the meaning of “peace”. How can someone whose main objective in life is to polarize politics even be considered for this prize?

A bit of trivia; Kissinger was awarded the prize in 1973 along with North Vietnam diplomatic representative Le Duc Tho. The latter refused the prize in protest. To this day, only two people have ever declined a Nobel prize: Le Duc Tho and Jean Paul Sartre. Le Duc is the only one to turn down a Nobel peace prize in history.

He knew he wasn’t interested in Peace?
He knew he would soon attack the South and that our Dem Congress would not come to the South Vietnamese’s aid. Of course, the ‘Killing Fields’ in Cambodia and the rape of South Vietnam soon followed — same thing if we pull out of Iraq.

The answer is a simple no. Regardless of Mr Limbaugh’s contribution to world peace, the nominators do not have standing.
Now, if he can convince a previous recipient to nominate him, that would be a different situation. Maybe Kofi Annan or Doctors without Borders could step up to the plate?

Can you name me one Israeli politician who wouldn’t fit this description?
Anyway, there’s one important lesson both parties still need to learn in that conflict. You make peace with your ennemies, not with your friends.
