OH, and once again, if you see a white chevy Tahoe in Houston driving behind you with the windows tinted (and Gawd forbid they have a cattle guard on the front), slow down.
You apparently don’t even have to look like a cop anymore to pull people over.
And, honestly, Houston is obviously paying these guys way more than most people know because all of them have new cars (some of the troopers are in sports cars) and I see these cops buying houses that doctors usually buy.
I have no sympathy for police who abuse their station like this. If you are out of uniform, why are you pulling people over at all? HE should have called it in if he thought someone was really putting others at risk, not swerve and block a line of traffic because of it and then beat someone up.
Had one following me yesterday over in LaPorte. But with the height of my truck no way anybody is going to attack me. He would have to be 7 foot tall.

I do not have problem with cops getting paid but with greater salaries should come greater expectations.
Did I miss the vote to allow cops to wear tank tops while driving their Dodge Neon and still pull people over?
Who authorized this shit? is this happening across the country? So cops everywhere don’t need to be in uniform or in a marked vehicle to pull you over anymore?

Might want to consider the IA, get your own lawyer route. Remember, they grow them tall in Texas…

That’s the point. I have heard of two very troubling issues in just the last month in my own city…and that is just on THIS website. There are more negative stories from people I know.
They seem to be getting P A I D yet acting even worse.
I don’t have anything against paying cops…but if they are getting funds like that and acting like this, someone needs to pull the plug.

Should have been clear, wife has not been asked for witness statement or anything. So for now nobody even knows us.
I just happen to see one of these trucks and it followed me for a bit yesterday.

On a completely other note: looks like you are leaning up.

If that dialogue is at all accurate, then Texas has a real problem.
But Push is on the money, power is a problem for those that don’t know how to control it.
Which is, like, everyone…
My friend was in Tokyo and riding his bike along some street. Said a “cop” ran him down–yes, on foot–and when he stopped, the cop, panting and catching his breath, bowed and said, “Sir, you were riding very fast. It was an unsafe speed for this crowded area. Please slow down and enjoy your evening.”

Yea I had to fucking sucks. I did the V-Diet which was a bitch but lost 22 pounds of fat. Now I am doing that diet that Tibs had done an article on a few weeks back. Just drinking Mag10 three times during the day and then pigging out on meat and veggies at night. Also doing the dreaded Crossfit with the wife on Saturdays. I on the other side of 35 approaching 40 and I really have to consider my health long term.
However my goals have not changed just the weight, now instead of just trying to DL 500 and Squat 500 I want to do it weighing 205 instead of 245.

Wife told me friend said it went down like this.
Undercover Cop: Where you texting I saw you swerving.
Chris (Friend): I am now that I am stopped but not while I was driving.
Cop: I could call in and report you.
Chris: Okay if you have to
Cop: (Increasing his voice) Do you want me to call the cops?
Chris: Yes go ahead
Cop: Yelling do you want me to call the cops?
Chris: Yes please do
Cop: Starts punching and yelling I am the cop mother fucker.
Wow makes you feel all safe and fuzzy.
I think you buddy got beat up and probably will have his life changed for the worse just so this cop could save face. He got himself in a position where he had to call for back-up (your buddy shouldn’t have said “yeah call the cops”) but he couldn’t have his peers show up to find a law abiding, sober citizen who would explain that he was just driving down the road when this asshole pulled out in front of him. So the cop beats him and charges him with resisting arrest so when his buddies show up it looks like something real went down.
I’m curious, it sounds like the cop didn’t call it in until after the beat down, so what happened in the time between the beating and other cops getting there. Did he have handcuffs on him?

Cop beats him and drags him out of the car, by that point my wife could pull around. She just didnt know what to do and what could she really do. Like I said she just got her new phone so she didnt know how to get the camera up quickly and then she had to pull around. She called me right after that and she was just shocked. Our friend did not fight back, he got beat and followed commands.

At one point in Paris, when the soldiers were abusing their power, the public put together squads of people who would go around and stop the officers (by killing them). This sounds reasonable where you live.

Yup, they hanged them at the gas lantern posts…

Well I hope and pray we do not get to that point. Probably the only good thing about all the video cameras and big brother watching is that it is also watching big brother.

Some places are making that illegal and sending people to jail for videoing cops.

I understand, I believe we are the same age. How is the Mag10 treating you? I have been tempted to try that. Have not had much luck digesting Anaconda.
I have been an officer for 17 years and there is no way I could defend this type of behavior. I can certainly understand the outrage and the animosity held against LE officers when people observe this blatant abuse of power.
Based on what I have read from the OP, this is absolutely unacceptable behavior on the officer’s part. Even if the guy was cocking off at the officer, there is no reason why he should immediately resort to laying his hands on him and then proceeding to repeatedly punch him in the face. And to top it off this was over a texting complaint. Unbelievable. What is he going to do if he witnesses a legitimate crime in progress? The officer was way out of line and as far as I am concerned he needs to be criminally charged if this is what indeed occurred.
It is also my opinion that the OP’s wife needs to make a complaint with HPD’s Internal Affairs. Unfortunately if no one comes forward and files a complaint it will be the officer’s word against the OP’s friend. If the officer has somehow managed to keep his personnel file clean then they will lean towards the officer’s statement if there is no other evidence that would impeach his testimony. HPD has a responsibility to weed these type of people out of their ranks and it is in their best interest to do so.
With the exception of fucking the police, I have to say that the Bodyguard has given some sound advise on how to support a complaint against the officer. I would review his posts.

Thank you for contributing. You sound reasonable, and I would appreciate your input in other threads, especially those detailing abuses or perceived abuses by LEOs.
