WWI - Wilson. WWII - Roosevelt. Truman - Korea. Vietnam - JFK and Johnson.
The lone Republican to get us in a war in the 20th century was the stealth-lib Bush I.
Now consider the massive debts run up by mostly Dem Congresses. They ran things from 1954 to 1994 and set up all the massive giveaways. Then they howled when Bush II wanted to cut the growth rate from 14% to 12% – “George Bush wants you to eat cat food!!”
Seriously people – just admit that you wanted to take part in the looting and never thought that you’d pay a price for being a part of it. You thought it unjust that some people have more than others. Well, the chickens are coming home to roost as we speak. Get ready to get a firm dose of strong medicine, administered by the embodiment of pure evil: Barrack Obama.
Headhunter: Your assertion that Democrats are wholly responsible for getting this country involved in every war we’ve been in the last 90 years or so (except for Bush, whose liberal leanings I suspect you fault for the start of the Gulf War, hence the term “stealth-lib Bush I”) is laughable. As is your assertion that Democrats are solely at fault for the fiscal dips and valleys we’ve experienced in the same time.
If Dems are the ones at fault for these blows to the country, then by logic Republicans are not at fault right (except for Bush I)? If your assertions are correct and Democrats are the ones solely running this country into the ground, or at least the primary architects of such destruction, then how fucking stupid does that make Republicans? Who’s the bigger fool?
The one ruining everything, or the one incapable of stopping it? If Democrats are fouling things up as badly as you think they are, and Republicans are not in some way complicit, then as incompetent as Dems are, the Republicans must be even more incompetent!
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me every year since 1954 like you assert and shame on the Republicans. What a bunch of bullshit. I’m certainly no defender of the liberal agenda, but if you’re going to attack it, you’ve gotta do a much better job than you’ve done here.
Because a couple of social policies shape how 99% of the people vote, issues the government shouldn’t be involved with in the first place.
I bet most of you pro-choicers would never vote for a “pro-life” presidential candidate, no matter what their other stances are: the possibility of overturning Roe v. Wade is too great to risk. And vice-versa, I bet most of you “pro-choicers” would never vote for the pro-choice guy.
That’s one issue, and it gets people to the polls, voting for the same party year after year.

Ironic much?
Dems got us into all those wars. Hell, historians now concede that FDR poked at the Japanese enough to get them to attack us. Wilson was a criminal. Only Truman appears guiltless.
Republicans, up until Reagan, believed in a balanced budget. Hence they lost elections. Americans thought they could spend more than they earn so they kept voting Dem.
SS/Medicare are Dem programs. Hence, we’re doomed.

Maybe if republicans would get back to that , then they would be a viable party

That’s what the TEA party is all about. Its kind of shocking that these ideas are considered ‘radical’ nowadays.

They are not radical at all , what is radical is claiming that having social programs that are cheaper than the free market can provide is some how wrong
Why does anyone vote for Republicans is just as valid a question. I am definitely reaching a point where I think “Why should I show up to vote when everyone on the ballot is a dumbass?” I look at what goes on in Washington–on the right and the left–and I feel like I’m on fucking candid camera and there’s an audience at home waiting for me to flip the fuck out. You have right … See Morewingers who constantly compare Obama and the Dems to Hitler (literally), but the most remarkable thing about Obama (aside from a good number of truly atrocious policies and decisions) is his complete inability to take a principled stand on anything. Until these fucking idiot politicians get serious, I plan on staying home and playing Guitar Hero on every election day.

I am pro choice but would vote for a pro-lifer I otherwise like. Because I don’t believe there is any hope of ever overturning Roe v. Wade. But I agree with you general point. There are certainly some very salient, polarizing issues that prevent people from pulling the trigger on candidates they otherwise might favor.

Republicans don’t try to change the system. Democrats try to make the system even worse than it is. Of course, either alternative eventually leads to catastrophe, but its slower under the Republicans.
Republicans are dumb and unprincipled, Dems are the same but like a mentally challenged cousin.

Republicans absolutley try to change the system. You only say otherwise because you are more aligned with the changes Republicans, particularly social conservatives, would like to make.

What Program is cheaper? The Galveston plan produces much better results then social security?
