Why Do People Hate Elon Musk?

The virtue signaling is strong with that one.

How does one collectively stress?

I should delete it as I usually am just rotating 30 day bans with maybe 24 hours of use.

So, I just say a news article that Musk’s mother is on the cover of Sports illustrated Swimsuit this year…

Why in the world are they putting someone who is almost a great grandmother on the cover of that magazine?

I actually met her, twice. We work in the same profession.

That’s pretty cool.

Still don’t know why she is on the cover (well, I probably do…agendas and such).

I mean, Vanity Fair put a dude on the cover not too long ago…

Elon musk comes off as cocky, arrogant, and a guy who knows he has ā€œfuck you moneyā€ and acts like it… Eg understanding his influence and using it for ā€œthe funniezā€, but not really understanding or caring how it real world affects many people.

That said, I think he is a big net positive and I’d rather have someone like him throwing billions and spending all his energy on grand ideas that move our species forward, rather than hoarding billions.

This is because he is definitely autistic.

In general, why should he give a rats ass if he pisses someone off?

Because with a bad interview, or offhand tweet he thinks is silly he can lose shareholders billions, or seriously setback industries etc. With how important he is, words matter and have very tangible real world consequences he is largely insulated from because of his vast wealth.

He still hasn’t learned ā€œjust because you can, doesn’t mean you shouldā€.

I agree with your point but

Have any of us really learned this though? Most people who learn this do so out of self-preservation, something he certainly doesn’t need to do, given his wealth.

I can say that his actions have affected me none, except that i would never have considered buying an electric car if he didn’t do what he’s done with Tesla.

I mean, his shareholders at this point know that he is a bit of a loose cannon and are still willing to take the risk. Seems the positives outweigh the negatives for them.
