Do we need to argue about what logic means?
TheBodyGuard wrote:
I’m not getting into a semantics pissing contest with you. Wake me up when you are ready to apply the logical principles you espouse to your religion. I’ll wait, but I shall not hold my breath.
That’s sort of funny. Every “logical” argument that you’ve applied to our little discussion regarding God and the Bible so far has turned out to be nothing more than erroneous sweeping conclusions, followed by other assorted logical fallacies. But when the “real debate” begins you are then going to bring it? Somehow I doubt that. Well, the debate has begun and you have not brought it my friend.
I only know what you were posting and it was a jumbled mess of illogical thoughts strewn about in an unorganized way. When you were called on them you seemed to do a lot of back peddling. I did gather that you are not a Christian but I was aware of that before.
The Christian Bible. And many other non-Christian religious texts.
I believe some non-Christian religious texts state this.
According to the Christian Bible he did in fact form that star that you’re referring to.
And what text did you draw this conclusion from, or is this something that you free thinkers just sort of gravitate towards?
I wonder why you would mention your very poor analogy which was backed up by your logical fallacy to wit, If HE created this large universe what makes you think that he cares about you and I? Or something along those lines. I think that mess is better left to a previous thread, don’t you? You don’t want to revisit that do you? If you have enough logic to disprove a 2000 year old religion I would hope that you could at least be logical enough to not go near such a horrible analogy and such a logical fallacy. Let’s move beyond this I’m sure you are capable of better.
Yes, you’ve voiced this this “scary” threat previously. But as I cautioned you, you’d better bone up on your logic BEFORE trying to make good on such a threat as you will end up frustrated and yammering such key phrases as “you know what I mean” as you’ve done this time around.
Let me know when you’re ready to start.

We’ve already begun and you have not yet made one compelling argument. Moreover, you’ve not even made one logical point. But the bluster continues.

That depends on your definition of ‘what’… ![]()

And what will your argument be other than to quote scripture? Do you have an extra-scriptural evidence or thoughts on this of your own? Or do you just attack the thoughts and opinions of others? Again, when you can express a position (and avoid using disputed scripture in support thereof), that does not rely on something I said, we can start the “debate”. Let me know when you do it. But so far, you’re doing a helluva job for Christianity - based on my discussion with you, I find it more repugnant than when we started.

Please Mr. tough guy point out where and when I’ve quoted scripture. At this point I’m still trying to get you to actually make sense.
And while I’m thinking of it keep in mind that when you cut and paste anything I quote do so with date and time included copied from the actual post. Pulling things out of our many exchanges and attributing them to me will not work, as you tried to do on another thread. I know you despise logic but please show some respect for proof.
When you deliver a coherent thought that is not rambling, and when you drop the logical fallacies I will respond to the point. What I’m trying to say is please make sense.
For about the fourth time little one, all we have are our words to communicate. If you cannot make sense with those words then they need to be questioned.
As I’ve repeatedly told you Christianity needs no defense from the likes of you. You’re an angry man who plays the Internet tough guy. When you challenged someone to a fight in the other thread that we are on you showed your true colors. You have nothing, really you don’t.
Then I’m sure you can imagine how God finds your typical behavior.
I see you’re still pulling apart words. Wake me up when you have an actual point. Maybe you can expand on the limited communication abilities of God again. That was a good one.

I’ve repeatedly pointed out how ineffectual that you communicate, using logical fallacies. If you can’t stand the factual heat get out of the kitchen.

lol
Now I’m just wondering which one of you is holding the fish.

Given the great expanse of the cosmos, what gives us the right to think HE has a plan for US at all? If you construct this great farm, do you have a plan for the ants?
You’ve fallen into another of your logical fallacies. That is, since HE has created so much HE does not care about us. Furthermore, your example is inaccurate as we did not create the ants.
Well, let’s go back to where it all started shall we? Let’s see if we can get your great mind back on track. Or, whether we can get your feeble mind off an admittedly bad analogy and back to the topic that led you astray. You do realize you replied to me with an attack again?
Are you familiar with anthropocentrism? I’m sure you are.
So I reiterate, what evidence do you have (extra-biblical) that if there is a “God”, that He has a “plan” for us or, that he actually specifically created mankind.
Is it not possible God caused the universe to form and that what occurred thereafter including physical laws and biology was by chance? Is it not possible that other universes exist with different physical laws that would not allow any life as you know it (as has been theorized)? And, if such a universe does in fact exist, and God created everything, why would he create a universe incapable of supporting life just like our own? After all, the heavens and the earth were created for mankind right?
Why such a large expanse of universe seemingly filled with “nothing” if not other humans, since humans are so important?
If he has a “plan”, why has he not communicated it to mankind personally, so that there is no mistake, no debate?
When you answer the above, please tell me why God has a plan for us. State your reasons, without relying upon disputed scripture to do so. I am a man that does not believe in your religion. So communicate to me with facts and logic, and leave the scripture behind.
Prove to me that you can express your opinions to another man, whether that man is Muslim, Jew, Atheist, Buhddist, Pagan, Agnostic, et als. In other words, you cannot rely upon scripture, you must express YOUR THOUGHTS instead of attacking the thoughts of another. Can you do that? Let’s see.

And I’ve repeatedly pointed out how you just attack, building strawmen and using ad hominem. And please reference the “factual heat” you set forth. Last I saw, you just made an attack about my bad analogy for my thoughts about man’s place in the universe. I didn’t see you espouse one single “fact” or utter one passage or “logic”. Let me know when you begin ok?

That’s because I am done with you, you’re not serious. You’re oafish attempts at debate have left my sides painful from laughter. Put another way I’ve had my laughs at your expense and now I’m moving on.
Try not to take this personally. There will be others you can practice your fractured logic on who won’t even notice.

I give up, but before I go, have another personal attack.
Zeb, what would you say is at the heart of your belief? My guess would be faith. You can use logic to defend against certain attacks, but you cannot use it to “prove” that your convictions are true beyond any doubt. In the end, Christianity/Judaism/Islam rely on faith. Do you disagree?

I agree with you completely and have said similar things in previous posts. And by the way thank you for making sense. It’s refreshing to communicate with someone who is bright and is able to pen a post in complete sentences without using logical fallacies. Honestly, I don’t know how people teach the retarded, where do they get teir patience?

That’s because you cannot. Now run along and police some other expanse of cyberspace or thread. You’re dismissed.

This coming from someone who has threatened to beat people up over the Internet. Did you meet that person whom you disagreed with and beat him up yet? (eye roll).
I tried to have a serious dialogue with you, but between the half-truths and the logical fallacies that you live by it was impossible. Then you were good for a laugh for a while, but like a comedian who has stood on stage a bit too long your act got old. At this point I’m tempted to keep responding, at least to the point where you threaten to beat me up as you have other posters.
