Why Do Other Sites Slag Us Off?

But again, for him to even post that information is incredibly generous. So there you go, I must be a cheerleader also. A very hairy and ugly cheerleader that you would not want to see in a tu tu.[/quote]

Before I write this I want to say that I love CW’s routines and from the one time I met him and his replies online he seems like a great guy…

But it’s GENEROUS for CW to post a routine? I beg to differ!

He is being paid for each and every article he writes (as it should be); he also gets to plug himself in every article (the little thing at the end of the article saying how you can contact Chad for private consultations). I’d be shocked if Chad hasn’t found new clients through this site!

So for Chad it’s a business and he’s running it quite well! He provides excellent, APPLICABLE information that has helped to dispel many of bodybuilding’s myth and he backs it up with his personal experiences and those of his clients. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t visit pubmed or like-minded sites on a continual basis too. So yes I definetly think CW is one of the best contributors on the site.

Your statement though that he has a lot of people speaking of the benefits and the “awesomeness” of his programs before they try them is completely accurate! But I’ve noticed recently that the first person to say how amazing the program work is none other than CW himself. Take for example this statement from his most recent article: “What I’m going to share with you is a hypertrophy training system that works better than any other parameters known to man.”

And it very well might be. I’ve tried a lot of Chad’s programs; Waterbury Method, TTT, Single’s Clubs, Quattro Dynamo with good results. But even though Chad made that statement (which will probably piss some people on other sites off) he also made sure to mention how long and how much time he has invested in creating this system. He probably knows better than any other how powerful it can be.

In a lot of ways this is similar to the creation of Rearden Metal in a certain book which I hope many of you have read. But to summarize it a man creates his own metal that’s better than anything else on the market and people bash it b/c it will make their products inferior. The inventor of this metal also named all of his companies and products after himself; Rearden Steel, Rearden Ore etc. People thought this was a conceited act but it was just one of pride signifying his ability.

This is somewhat analagous to CW. He’s named a few programs after himself and I see nothing wrong with that. He created them! And for everyone that calls him the 10x3 guy you must have over-looked the fact that he stated in another article that he did not invent the 10x3 method. Overall though a lot of people are just going to become excited over his apparent narcissism when it’s really just that he’s doing his job better than anyone else.

And I’m tired of typing…

I love lamp.

Yup. Thats what they call a mutualy advantageous, or sometimes a symbiotic relationship.

It’s actualy a prety common practice. I do consider it courteous and quite generous to have q&a sessions like the authors do. They could pop out a thoughtless generic regiment every so often just for the sake of self promotion, but they don’t. They work hard, do the research, and put it together in a comprehensive format that addresses their chosen audience. They don’t have to, but they do, and I think that is prety damned cool.

This is what I meant to say, but my dog started barking and I hit too many keys. Oops!

I think that the other sites taking every opportunity to earn an edge over T-Nation is pretty standard in our capitalist society. Do you think K-Mart would try to lend support to Wal_Mart? Hell no. Of course not. Same with all business. The fact is that Biotest is a business, and the idea that they use is unique, and it works. Be the one to provide the most resources for the lifters and athletes on the internet and sell the products. Kinda like putting a car on sale for extra cheap in the newspaper so when you show up to buy it, you can show off your entire inventory and hopefully sell a much better car. Except that coming here for info and knowledge sharing can lead to a purchase of supplements.

I think that this is where the other places lag. I also think that the maturity level of the frequent readers and posters is much better than anywhere else I’ve browsed, not to mention funny and intelligent. I get a laugh every single time I log on, and I learn a thing or two while I’m at it. Every question I ask is answered by a fellow member with great success. How can you beat that?

does 10x3 work ubuls and upper dorsinus? if so, sign me up!

Yes, he gets paid for routines. Does he get paid for the all of the time he puts into answering questions on the forums and articles? I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think so.

CW puts a shitload of effort into making sure every question he gets is answered. Compare this with Polquin, for example.

Do you actually care what people think, or are you just pondering?

Hey Massif,

I don’t give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks, I was just pondering. Seems hypocritacal to me to use the info from our boards and Contributers, but not give credit.

I think it comes down to this: Most people cannot accept that there is more than one right way to do things.

To embrace one belief, they must automatically discount all other conflicting beliefs. If they are doing Crossfit, then everything else (such as T-Nation) is bad. If they follow Matt Furey’s programs, then weight training in general is the devil.

This also gives them a feeling of belonging to something bigger than themselves. And the more they put the competition down, the better they feel. It’s sad, but generally the way the human mind works.

I dont know about everyone else…

But when everyone is bringing up T-Nation and other companies are using Biotest as an example “We are even better than them!”, thats speaks volumes.

Well. I have seen so much bashing of T-Nation and “T-Men” on other forums.
Whats funny is that the bashers are usually ex posters here who couldn’t fit into the community for one reason or another (stupid posts and or trolling).
They seem to have a hard time understanding that this is in fact a Biotest Site.
If you want to watch television then you get the commercials as well. It’s up to each individual to use or filter the marketing information as he/she deems fit.
Everyone wants a free ride these days.
The articles on this site are good and diverse, written by not just one but many intellegent people who have a rep in the weightlifting community. (I use the word weightlifting so as not to leave anybody out).
The majority of bashers do not understand that belonging to this forum is a priveledge and not a given right.
They moan about cencorship as if they were journalists in Iraq instead of just trolls with an agenda for one or another of the competing forums.
This is made obvious by their continuous attepts to discredit with half baked dribble of so called experts fom other forums which they repeat parrotlike.
I have a couple in mind but will hold my togue so as not to cause shit.
If you want television without commercials it’s called “Pay TV”
These losers think that just because they own a computer and an internet connection they have a right to demand.

The fact that T-Nation gets all this attention assures me that i am at the right place…and again I consider it a priveledge and not a right.

I thought these things were obvious…

I’m reminded of this quote by Einstein
Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds

Biotest and T-Nation pissing most other people off in the industry is just validating that they’re successful.

I’d be worried if they all started liking T-Nation.

Yes, our freedom. Nothing to do with our foreign policy.

Why they slag us off?? FEAR!

People fear what they don’t understand.

IMHO the level on most articles here is way higher then on other sites. That’s what bothers them, they feel stupid and inferiour when reading T-Nation stuff.

In a way I feel sorry for them. Ignorant but not willing to learn, sad isn’t it?

Your idea about physically solving the dispute with CrossFit is a great idea until you realize that Chuck Liddell and his training facility utilize CrossFit methodology.

Any of our Bruce Lee worshippers would drop Liddell like a bad habit.

Chuck Norris does Total Gym. That is the way to go!

I read somewhere on their site that if one of them was to fight a powerlifter type, they would just walk briskly away, and the powerlifter would tire out.
