Why Do Americans Care So Much About Freedom

Is this your first day on the interwebz?

Culturally, Chinese people have a massive hard on for scholars. Seriously, go google it. I think the willingness to actually complete and score well in an IQ test is a factor that has been seriously overlooked. I don’t expect someone from a shithole without any similar cultural influence giving much of a damn about completing one, let alone how high he/she scores.

Seriously, if you told me to complete one today, I’d say ā€œfuck offā€ unless you offer to pay me.

:joy:

This is stupid. The point is you think diversity is bad and everyone needs to stay in their own little corner. But that’s ignoring the fact that as people have gotten out of their own little corner many aspects of society have gotten much better. Less war, longer life expectancy, less people in poverty, greater access to education, need I go on? All things that have increased as diversity has increased.

If you want to argue for forever that diversity is bad go for it. But you can’t argue with the statistical improvements in numerous areas as it has increased.

Neither are a lot of countries. This doesn’t mean the country is on the verge of collapse. It’s been a long time since France was at its ā€œpeakā€ in terms of power. And yet it hasn’t collapsed.

Wow you REALLY don’t understand American history.

Not in the least bit. You’re trying to say it’s the worst of times. I’m pointing out it’s not even close. The comparisons are strong. It hurts your points so you will argue they aren’t.

Most ignorant people don’t. But you are just like in the immigration thread.

True. You nail both.

True. But it hasn’t helped you understand the US much. You think you do for some reason but it’s very apparent you don’t.

I doubt it. If you learned that lesson why did you bump this conversation back up?

I didn’t have the energy to even begin contemplating correcting that civil war statement.

Maybe in Australia they have a history book where the South surrendered and then all Americans came together in unwavering unity immediately for the next 100 years?

Wow.

Just Wow…

A kind of American ā€œPax Romanaā€ following the Civil War?

Think to yourself, ā€œis this a battle worth pickingā€. How much time has gone into writing up these rebuttals?

That’s what the internet is for lol

Way too much. But that can be said for any conversation online right? I mean you’ve got a bunch of long posts among many threads as well. I’m not arguing it isn’t largely a fruitless endeavor, but it’s called free time for a reason.

I’ve long had an issue with not calling people out on their bullshit in this forum. I’m just not great at ignoring it.

I find being on here is a good way for me to vent and talk about things I typically can’t talk about in person

Yes, a lot of bullshit goes by unchecked, but such is life. If we were to reprimand everyone over every dubious statement made the world would be a very bland, black and white place… Like a society full of highly functioning autistic people.

I’ve called people out on here and likewise I’ve been called out. I’d like to believe I pick my battles and aim towards calling repeat offenders who continually spout blatantly biased or frustratingly illogical arguments.

Why do Americans care so much about freedom?

Well I don’t think a lot of them really do anymore. Americans have had it too good for too long.

Me personally? I think freedom is one of the few things in life worth dying for.

I can certainly relate unreal24278.

Americans will cry about their freedom and how wearing a mask is like wearing a yellow Star of David, meanwhile this was a real attack on our freedom but where was the outcry?

An important lesson from other parts of the world is if you don’t protect your freedoms then politics will creep into all parts of your life. It’s the nature of the beast.

And remember, one day the beast might hunt for you but you can bet your last penny that the day will come where it hunts you:
