Just wait until Bern has to explain that his utopia means raising taxes on everyone, not just the rich.
“When we polled voters, we found most Sanders supporters aren’t willing to pay more than an additional $1,000 in taxes for his biggest proposals. That’s well short of how much more the average taxpayer would pay under his tax plan.”
I honestly think most of the support for Bernie comes from a protest vote against Hillary. She has been shoved down their throats by the DNC and many democrats resent it. Obviously, there is passion for him by the 20 something crowd that loves Bernie because of all the free stuff he wants to bestow upon them.
I think Bernie loses by about the same numbers or worse than Hillary in the general.
Should Trump pick a woman, or better yet a Latino woman as his VP I think he wins by a rather large margin. Far too early to tell of course but the possibility is there.
The Governor of New Mexico would be a great choice Susana Martinez would be a great choice. But, I think she stated that she is not interested if memory serves. But…there are other good choices.
Obama was a young, first serious black candidate who was good looking and is very charismatic and who is a really good speaker.
Bernie is an old (and even looks older than he is) hunched over half bald grey haired socialist. Who speaks like he has arrived directly from the Bronx.
He will be exposed quickly and crash to defeat should the DNC be dumb enough to give him the nomination should Hillary get indicted.
Again, bewared overlooking because of outward appearance. EVERY SINGLE ONE of my younger acquaintances is head over fucking heels for that old crone. To the point of hysteria…if Hillary goes down it is advantage to the DNC.
I agree with your point and said as much in my post. The 20 something’s are nuts about Bernie and his promise of freebies. But it takes a much larger coalition to win the Presidency than just 20 something’s. Obama in many other demographic categories that Bernie has no hope of winning.
Bernie will struggle with Independents, they actually have a working understanding of basic math and don’t let this “pie in the sky” utopian bullshit run their lives.
I have to say that you can “kinda’?” see where young, idealistic Millennials would be attracted to this Utopian BS (that NO one has clue how it’s all going to be paid for, including Bernie…)
But I am REALLY finding it hard to understand how old, working people with jobs , taxes and mortgages are attracted to this kind of rhetoric.
Limousine liberals that have enough money (generational wealth) to vote strictly along ideological lines.
Like that trust fund baby that was running the “other 98 %” or what ever. He freaking graduated from Mercersburg Academy with a buddy of mine. Great place. Interesting alumni.
The age where one stops believing socialist nonsense has been steadily rising for some time. Nearly half of a generation of people have never held a job until their mid twenties or had to pay for things like a mortgage, rent or insurance. We are staying children longer and as a consequence are more naive and susceptible to the future Bernie’s of the world.
Leads whom, new polling has her behind Trump. His first attempt at this has him neck and neck with a seasoned vet who has been in the game for a quarter century.
We all know about your…shall we say other shortcomings. But are you really stupid enough to believe the latest government statistics on unemployment? You do realize that there are more people unemployed and under employed than at any time in recent history. And when someone stops looking for work…simply gives up, they no longer count that person on the unemployment rolls. Furthermore, there has never been a larger disparity between the rich and poor than under Obama. What he has done is harmed the middle class. If the left wing news media was not firmly implanted in his butt they would be reporting this stuff.
Something like 47 million people receiving food stamps?
And we have not even touched on his incredibly bad foreign policy decisions…
And…this is one of the reasons your hero Hillary is not winning the Presidency.
Really? I think it’s easy–it’s scapegoat theory. “You’re struggling with your mortgage because of rich bankers”. “Your voice doesn’t matter because the system is rigged”. It doesn’t matter that they can do math (in fact I think many largely cannot, but I digress). They’re suspending disbelief to vote emotionally because they WANT to believe.
What do you think Trump has been capitalizing on in the GoP? Leveraging the same thing in a different way.
