Why Attacks on Trump Don't Work

Ermmm … Switzerland?

That Switzerland…tricky country!

Nonsense, you should brush up on your American history junior. In the mid 1860’s they were paid on average $35 per month in a time when $50 per month was top dollar.

You are just digging a huge hole for yourself on this thread that you will never be able to climb out of.

Or you could have a polite conversation with the man like I did. It seemed that was fun for both of us. I suppose sophomoric insults like ‘junior’ are more your speed though.

Note I didn’t say all, which was my point, there were cases of people being treated “like” slaves after abolition, the key part were that they were not slaves and the entire group they were a part of were not subject to those same conditions.

You have taken the intent of what I said completely out of context.

I quoted you very precisely and as I said above you are wrong. If you want to change your mind now that’s fine with me.

Hello Officer Aragorn I see you are out policing T-Nation and I hope you have a safe evening.

My response was in response to someone saying aborigines in Australia were often treated like slaves still.

My bringing up the slave like conditions of some chinese workers in America was to deny his assertion that this in some way went against British abolition of slavery.

If you can’t comprehend the context in which I said it, then I can’t help you here.

You cannot refute one inaccuracy with another (if that is the case). The facts are clear. Go read some American history on this topic BEFORE you post. As for comprehending your drivel it’s quite easy at this point. I start out assuming that most of your posts are wrong. so far I’ve been spot on.

Time and your value to this site prohibit me from correcting the rest of your nutty posts. Also, many others have done that job for me.

No, when did I say that?

Read my previous post. Bismark brought up unemployment and free shit.

I think that I’m fairly open-minded and try to see where other people are coming from.

However; for the life of me I cannot understand:

  1. the often rabid enthusiasm for Sanders and what he is advocating, and

  2. holding Europe up as some type of social “ideal”.

Believe me; America has it’s problems…but the European way of doing things is FAR from ideal…and I think that they are just beginning to see the ramifications of that with staggering debt; labor unrest; and Terrorism…(just to name a few…)

…which probably explains why I have been TERRIBLE in the past at predicting elections, right Zeb…?

Agree. The rabid enthusiasm for Sanders is multifactorial. I attribute it to the following:

  1. Like Trump’s supporters his supporters see the system as Rigged

  2. Like Trump’s supporters his supporters are high on emotion and very low on analytical ability, having subsumed that into emotionally driven decision making

  3. Unlike Trump, Sanders’ supporters blame capitalism itself in many cases (though not all cases and not all his supporters)

  4. Unlike Trump, Sanders’ supporters have a dearth of real-world experience but like Trump’s public statements they are operating in a “its such a simple solution!!!11!” mode to complex problems.

  5. Unlike Trump they view equality of outcome as the fundamental principle to equality, which makes their flavor of politics fundamentally socialist even though they may not despise the economic system of capitalism…or be aware of the underpinnings of their political stances.

When you put those 4 together and add an internet meme culture with no desire to fact check, I think it is quite understandable. Inscrutable as to why one would want to live their life like that, but the phenomenon is at least understandable. I would rather take our problems a 1000 times over than take European Unions problems or solutions. I value my autonomy too much.

I wonder why Bern doesn’t mention the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the EU is 8.8%, seasonally adjusted for March 2016.
