Lookin strong whup. When do you plan on pulling from the floor?
This week, actually. My gym got a new trap bar, so I’ll be using it for the first time. Have you ever used one? If so, whats the weight difference you can pull compared to a straight bar?
Thanks for stopping in!

Ive never used one before, but I know you can pull a crap load more weight.
My first couple times I trained w/ a trap bar, I actually pulled less weight than I could w/ a straight bar. I’m sure it was due to grip issues, as the bar my gym had tapered rolling handles that worked my grip good but it was the limiting factor.
Even w/ straps I was weaker, but I was unfamiliar w/ using straps at the time, so I might have screwed it up.
I’m not sure how much the trap bar weighs, so I’m basing the weights off of the bar weighing 45lbs

First time pulling with this bar and it felt more natural than a straight bar, although I did have to bend my knees more to begin the pull. Essentially, I was worried about the bar either hitting my ass or knees, but it cleared them fine and it gives your shins a break as you don’t have to worry about the bar scrapping them. Another thing I noticed was that my grip strength was much stronger with this neutral grip. I made the mistake on the 405 set to not having my grip exactly in the center of the bar (too far forward), which caused the bar to turn down in the front and that messed with my grip a little, but I worked through it. So overall its a good change and it will definitely be apart of my lifts.

Nice job on the Trap bar DL’s. Did the trap bar have a raised grip? Or were the handles even with the rest of the bar?
Thanks man, and yes, the handles were even with the rest of the bar.

Finally watched Bigger, Stronger, Faster. Very informative and thought provoking; Tiger Woods has better than perfect vision, musicians are taking beta blockers, Air force pilots are hopped up on amphetamines, students are taking aderal, supplement ads are BS, most people against steroids are hypocritical, congress spends way to much money opposing them. Just a few things I remember off hand.
BSF is a real eye-opener. The scene where Chris Bell is making supplements in a kitchen with immigrant workers, and then doing before and after shots in the same day, really made me think about all the crappy shit I used to buy! I want to see Power Unlimited too.
Yeah, I’m just trying some different things, keeping it fresh, yo.
I tried to watch it, but apparently Netflix doesn’t carry Power Unlimited…bastards! I did watch The Goods last night though, and considering it had an all star cast of comedians, it could have been a little funnier. And like all funny movies there were a shit load of funny lines that can be quoted.
I was totally surprised the model and photographer were admitting the supplement ads were horse shit.

The funny thing was that 405 felt just as heavy as the 495. Anyways, I was only planning on getting a single with 495, but I pulled a couple more, and very stoked about that. I should have put on the 2.5s to make it in the 500 club. I need to get some more vids up
