Who Would Dominate 21 (Basketball)?

Some conjecture on all-star weekend got me thinking. Reggie or Kenny or somebody was talking about the horse competition and said they would love a game of 21. Something like Lebron, Kobe, Dwight and Wade would be awesome.

So, anyhoo, you have all the NBA stars (past and present) in their prime. Who would come out on top?

Hell, I bet I could hang with any of 'em in a game of 21. It’d be too hard to call as it’s just a matter of who fucks up the most.

Kobe. Best 1 on 1 player, EVER.

Lebron or Kobe.

Uh, no. There’s alot of variables that are tied in based on what rules they’re using. Off the top though, I’d go with Bryant. He’s hands down the most dominant offensive player in history. He’s also the best one on one defender of the group listed.

Having said that, if there’s 3 guys you’re effectively playing one on two which makes things interesting. What I’d like to see is cut throat, which is one on one with one guy sitting. When someone scores, the defender sits and the guy on the sideline comes in.

Everytime you get scored on you sit, and you’re only allowed three dribbles on offense. The game’s to 10. That would allow people to see some serious offensive ability.

Most dominant offensive player in history- Kobe?

By the way, my first instinct is Dominique

Great scorer, very quick jumper that would be great for a game of 21.

I was liking it until this part. Why the goofy ass three dribble rule? Somebody like Iverson (who is a great scorer) would absolutely suck in this format.

Of course you could do it with no governor on dribbling, but limiting the dribble puts a premium on using your head and focusing on footwork and execution. From a fans standpoint I’m sure they’d love to see handles and getting to the rack, but three dribbles makes you focus.

Using things like jab steps, pump fakes and step backs would make it ridiculouslly intense and competitive, both offensively and defensively.
