Who Was the Best James Bond?

Pierce Brosnan, and that’s not because I grew up watching him.

“He’s tough and cocky like Connery; super suave and debonair like Moore.”

The problem with Brosnan was that his movies were no good.

Connery was good, but those movies are just too old; while classics, not the best.

Roger Moore is probably the best. Daniel Craig is sweet, but he’s more jason bourne in a tux.

Moore and Connery.
Saving the world and shagging hotties the next minute has to be delivered with juuust the right kind of goofiness. And they pulled it off.

Dalton and Brosnan were trying way too hard. Lazenby isn’t even in the race.

I haven’t seen a Craig yet (assumed they were crap; the last Brosnan was garbage).
Seems I will have to check out Craig in Casino Royale/Q. Solace.
But I suspect he has nothing on Moore and Connery.

The Man With the Golden Gun is my favorite Bond, btw

Pop-Culturally, Bond’s time is up.
Other archtypes, quasi-mythological superheroes and stern agents of ideology demand his screen space.
He’ll be missed by few.

Can’t believe he’s shaven here.

There’s nothing hot like a hairy Connery.

Sean Fucking Connery
My favorite. Runner up is Timothy Dalton.

With that being said, I think Daniel Craig is an amazing actor, and his movies were great, but they dint feel like I was watching James Bond movies. I don’t know, maybe the absence of the gadgets or his attitude were a tad bit off. Like Skyfall, it just felt like I was watching an awesome action movie.
SPOILER ALERT FOR SKYFALL

How the hell do you kill off M?? That was such bullshit.

Judi Dench is going blind so they had to cut her out. I actually did like how they introduced and developed her replacement. The only thing I really didn’t like was the hacking scenes, they just made it too unrealistic, although Q was a good character

Daniel Craig.

By far, far, far, far, far.

I really, really want to say Sean Connery, but go back and try watching one of his, or ANY of the other James Bonds, without snorting and snickering through half the movie. Some of them make Schwarzeneggar flicks look like Terrence Malik pieces.
agreed completely

can’t beat how Sean says the name

BOND, JAMESHH, BOND
X3. Connery is an extremely close second, but Daniel Craig has this stoic thing going for him. It may not necessarily be Craig but the way the wrote the new Bond. Last Bond flick I saw was Casino Royale and I liked how the Bond character had “grown up” from just being a playboy spy to a more experienced, seasoned agent who was actually dealing with some “issues.” I realize Bond flicks are not meant to be taken seriously but this little bit of character development is a nice touch.

Again I agree. She was great in that role.

Na, I think it should be.

did you like the 2nd Craig Bond movie? I thought it was lacking compared to the 1st and 3rd

Agreed. If you watched the 1st and then the 2nd right after, it works… but it doesn’t stand very well on its own.

Fuck, I thought they were all pretty good, and I even enjoyed Lazenby in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Connery’s obviously the sentimental favorite, and I thought Brosnan really hit the sweet spot between slick, dashing, and serious spy, but the nod has to go to Craig. He’s just flat-out a great fucking Bond and a total bad ass.

Woody Allen:

I heard that they are planning on casting Ashton Kutcher as the next bond.

Something about that chase scene involving an invisible Aston Martin sliding around on the ice kind of turned me off to the Brosnan Bonds. That, and the melting giant ice castle owned by the billionaire media mogul.

Actually, I think Brosnan was a decent Bond, if the actual movies he was in were better. Goldeneye was his best by far.
