I’m really enjoying lifting. I like to lift heavy (for me). I love feeling strong and confident. I actually also like the routine and the repetitive nature of the sets and reps. I feel good when I can add weight to any lift. And it feels good when I tell my sons what I deadlift or that I’m doing pullups and they seem genuinely impressed. It also greatly improves my mood. I ran up the stairs this morning with no stalling or heavy breathing, so that’s pretty awesome.
Oh yeah, and I love when I’m between sets and forget that I’m a 46 year old woman and I have a 23 year old girl dance club party in my squat rack. (It’s in my basement so no one else is exposed to that image)
