Who is on Your 'Mount Rushmore'?

hmm this is tough… I’m really trying to speak not of people who I’d like to meet which we’ve done before but people that have actually influenced me or inspired me:

  1. Hunter S. Thompson - Life
  2. Arnold Schwarzenegger - Fitness and Discipline
  3. Paul Cocksedge - Design and Experimentation
  4. John Hedjuk - Architecture and Education (one of the most influential teachers of all time)

Actually change that

  1. Hunter S. Thompson
  2. Arnold Schwarzenegger
  3. Bruce Lee, can’t believe I forgot this guy
  4. Paul Cocksedge - I don’t know about his personality so it might suck to meet him but his work has really inspired me. If he is an ass I’d take John Hedjuk as the #4

good list

John Wooden
Einstein
… I need to think on my last 2.

It’s hard to come up with overall in all categories.

While I am not saying this is the most overall important category, it’ll be easier for me to limit to professional/intellectual importance:

Dr Kenneth Sloan, my graduate school professor in medicinal chemistry
Dr KV Rao, my first professor of medicinal chemistry as an undergraduate
Dr Warren Nielsen, my first professor of organic chemistry
Dr Toth, my professor for Physics with Calculus II

If I were going to add an “inspirational,” which would take us past a count of 4, it would be Dr Alberto Ercoli, an Italian (obviously) medicinal chemist specializing in prodrugs who brought, I think, five drugs to market, which may well be more than anyone else ever has and is an amazing accomplishment.

Rushmore was a great film.
