Weāve got more bulbs and flowers in the front and back garden this year. Spring tulips looked the goods prior to high winds knocking many petals offā¦
Back neighbour has a few bee hives too, so pollination for fruit trees and vege patch should be good again this year.
Carrots and radish seeds planted over the weekend. Plenty of Spinach, garlic, lettuce on the go. Herbs survived the frosts too, and some aniseed (not sure what weāll use that for though).
Are you in the southern hemisphere?
I want to do this in the spring. Does anyone do this or have any tips?
Yeah mate, South Australia in the hills so frosty winters and hot dry summers here usually.
Have a search for local bee hive groups on socials or similar, thatād be a good start point. Local councils may have some rules around keeping bees too - but from what Iāve seen here in Oz itās usually just a limitation on ānumber of hivesā per property.
Turnips and radishes.
Onions and strawberries planted also. I always end up killing the strawberries but itās worth a shot!
Iām going to be a while before I have anything to post. I did find a great nursery last year though for the basil & odd ends. My sage and oregano will likely return as they have for the past few years though.
No idea what kind of mystery gourd is going to harass me this year. Thats always a nice surprise.
