Your obviously conflicted. You admit that the tim wise and yourself do not know what the struggles of the black man are like, so it sounds like you admit there are issues but you think there are no racial advantages to being white. But you didn’t answer if you would take the pill.

Not everyone will overcome their circumstance. However people can overcome and recognize racial bias that occurs in our society and try to change that quality about themselves. They can also support other changes to institutionalized racism.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that most people who think this is not a reality do not live in diverse areas.I live in LA and the racial/income based segregation is astonishing. I read rural Alabama, and I am pretty sure that Australia is very self segregated as well.

I have lived in a community that was predominantly black and hispanic. I have worked for employers and been told flat out that we do not hire black women for entry level positions like housekeeping because they are to much of a problem to deal with. I have also been told not to hire a gay black man because it would be an issue and also not safe for him being alone on a grave yard shift.(I quit this job after this) This all in a community that is predominantly African american. I am not going to say that this issue is/ has not gotten better, but the fact remains that our country still has these issues and not a single white person would change their skin color because they know that they would be adding a challenge for themselves to overcome.

Galveston Island south of Houston where I lived for 5.5 years had to be forcibly made to desegregate their public schools in the late 80’s. Less then 20 miles away is a town called Santa Fe and it is known as the KKK capital of the Texas. They have/had a KKK bus that would drive around the town and pick up members for meetings.

If you live in a very homogeneous neighborhood or city/suburb then it is easy to say these things are not common. But they are not common in your area by design.

The anger and hostile replies are not a normal response. Your/my race is not under attack by me or anyone else.

The Koch Brothers And The Battle Over Integration In Wake County's Schools | HuffPost Voices I think that this story is a perfect example of how the media can use racial bias to create immediate separation when in reality in this economy this will be effecting out of work and under employed white people as well. This is the reason that you should be aware of this issue, because at the end of the day it comes down to the poor irregardless of racial class and more and more of the predominantly white middles has been slipping down the ladder. Don’t only cry about the injustice of it all when it only effects you personally.

Saying everyone is equal does not make it so… Wrap your head around that, if it doesn’t fry your last brain cell. Just because actual racial based hatred is not being professed and the majority of people may not/would not participate in racial based discrimination does not mean that society has an even playing field for minorities, blacks in particular, a group that was intentionally oppressed for generations. They do not have equal opportunity all of the sudden.

Your lucky that your parents were both white when they f-cked because I can tell that you would not have had the intellectual needs to overcome your situation had you been born black the same year you were born a white.
