When we got there, they opened my door and then grabbed my bags and ran them to the curbside check-in. They took photos on their camera phones and still show them to new employees as proof of how I treat black employees…
You racist bastard…
I hope that was sarcasm.
I see no sarcasm in racism…well, least not in this post. But actually, this whole thread is filled with sarcasm and racism. You get my point, Tango…damn racist.
I totally agree. And it is a shame that the media gives these losers so much power to try and shape how people think or at least keep the hatred going. When people buy into the idea that these wackos represent the majority then they have succeeded in furthering their cause of hatred.
Nail on the head, man. But it sells air time and makes for juicy journalism, which makes money. So there ya go.
Good posts, gents. It’s true there are always going to be the idiotic exceptions, but some people who claim not to be racist sure change their tune when dating is concerned. My wife and I get stared at around here more than most gay couples do. This is the first place I’ve lived wher a girl couldn’t date me because I was “colored.” I think a lot of it depends on where you live. Here, there are still a lot of the “Old-School, Propah Whatt Folks” types still in office and still alive.

It kind of makes you wonder why some seem to think it is so rare.

Well, I never said it’s rare, X, as I do still live in the South. Believe me, I hear a great deal of racist comments every day, from both sides. Stereotypes die hard down here, and that is a shame.

Kratos, I know what that feels like…although it happens much, much less than I expected.
We live in a small town in SW Colorado that is very white( as most towns in CO are)and we very rarely get stares.
On A&E or History Channel they used a typical 2000 year old skull from the region to reconstruct what he would probably look like. Basically “middle eastern” since that’s where it all took place!

I don’t think the Bible ever flat out said he was black. It also said he had “feet of bronze” did it not? And black people aren’t the only race\type of people that have “hair of wool.”
For all we know he could’ve been Arab or something similar, ethnically speaking.

How the hell does that make sense? So, 2000 years from now, if someone wants to know what YOU looked like, they can just grab a random skull from America and get a general feel for how you looked?

Si, soy racisto!
I just wanted to ensure my effort to communicate the humor and irony of the situation wasn’t a wasted effort.
Pardon me, but I need to go lay some oppression down on a deserving minority (my wife)…

“Colored”? What color would that be? Isn’t everyone colored? If not they weren’t they would be clear or transparent?
